Episode 18. Speed of boredom, fake jets, and chasing questions w Alex Kropp

DM confessional + speed of boredom + half private jets + less vibes more winning + philosophy for heartbreak

In this new BAG TALK episode, Elizaveta Federmesser is joined by creative consultant and the person behind No Research Today, Alex Kropp. They talk about Alex’s new book “What’s the question you are asking yourself right now?”, published by A Service Books, but also about dm confessional, Bible-like book design, “answers bored me”, staying eternally hopeful, making friends through an idea, bringing anonymity back, taking a picture on a fake private jet, deprofessionalizing your emails, specialty magazines from the 90s, niche being basic, studying philosophy to mend a broken heart, Kandinsky shapes alphabet, and what is the speed of boredom?
Follow their conversation while they are stoop surfing in Amsterdam.

Highlights from a recent panel discussion with @alexvskropp and @centreforresearch . Alexander discussed the project, the book, his practice, and the idea of the institution, with an audience during a very hot day in Paris.

The opening image of the table is testament to the weekend’s action, collectivity, and curiosity - values we hold dear, and share with our friends at the @centreforresearch.

Thank you to all who invited us, attended and asked questions, especially @etienne_gilly, @studio.parc, @nottooooooday.

If you’d like to discuss any of the points Alex made, don’t hesitate to ask.

“What’s A Question You’re Asking Yourself Right Now?” is available now, from www.a-service.-books.com, for €20, £20 and $25.

The book was built to be used: as a divination partner; a conversation starter; a pocketable tool for reassurance. It is cause and effect. And the answer always is more questions.
