For nearly 50 years, Alfonso’s Pizzeria has been a staple on Riverdale Avenue, serving great food and bringing generations of Yonkers families together.

Today, I was proud to present a proclamation to John Nuzzi in recognition of his decades of dedication to our community. While John is stepping back after an incredible career, his impact on Yonkers and the countless customers who have walked through Alfonso’s doors will not be forgotten.

Congratulations, John, and thank you for all you’ve done for Yonkers. Wishing you a happy and well-deserved retirement.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with John AKA Alfonso, owner of my favorite pizzeria, and got to learn a little bit more about him. This man has served my grandmother, my mother, me, and now my first-born. He and his family are pure love, and I can never talk about where I grew up without mentioning Alfonso’s Pizza. Thank you guys for all you’ve brought to Riverdale Ave, to Yonkers, and to my family for so many years. We love you. Happy National Pizza Week 🍕❤️
