POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Spent the last couple of days playing with some oil pastels, ink and toothpicks on 19x24 sheets of Bristol. I haven’t used these in decades so I obviously have no idea what I’m doing outside of having a lot of fun!

I did three in total with the first slide being the last, the one that looks like crayon was the first. Luckily I’m married to an extremely talented painter able to give me some much needed advice as far as blending and color theory.

The last version shown here no longer exists cuz I fucked it up pretty bad, and this photo is all that remains 🤣

Not sure if I got it all out of me yet or not, but Sam Kieth has been on my mind and who am I to deny inspiration.

Hope everyone is well and happy #NCBD!

Mentally and artistically unpacking all the gems I received last week at @indiecomicscreatorcon , the best show I’ve ever done. A lot of hardware and software to go through. Shout out to @matthewsardo and @artofjamiejones for holding everything together and to @cosmiclionproductions @doomdazed @ro.higashi @uncle_atomic_press @meesimo @bigtony308 @tavarezart @chrisandersoncomics @bengranoff @mighty_peculiar @adamlemnah @tonymcmillen for the “IGD reunion” feels, @jimruggart for the chat and brain food, and the @kayfamsunday group @ian_cinco @valade_cartoonist @theivorybunny @alfredcomic for hipping me to a corner of cool peeps that was off but adjacent to my radar. And everyone else I missed too. Still charged up. Still unpacking. Still making comics.

Took me 35-40 years to start chasing childhood dreams. Never to late Fam. Got a couple new books coming out soon. Might as well start my own label. Shout out to @strangethingsmoss @dev_ill_art @defective.comics @alfredcomic for the art appreciation and motivation.

@indiecomicscreatorcon Highlight. When @ro.higashi and @theivorybunny drew my daughter’s character, @cosmiclion and @alfredcomic drew my son’s and @tavarezart drew both my nephews’ during the Drink & Draw. #kidart #makemorecomics #indiecomics

Great time at the second indie creator con in New Haven! These are the amazing books I found there. Special mentions to the colorful manga titled "Star Cat Galaxia" from @galaxycatmission to "Defective Comics" @defective.comics created by @alfredcomic with different stories collaborated with other team artists/creators, including myself. The show had a great mixture of fun and energy! Support comic creators!
