A great drill if you’re looking to work on your solo styling:

Copy your partners last count of 8, and then add your own and hand it back to them. It’s harder than it looks 😅

Thanks for showing me this fun game @algodance

“Why did it take you 30 min to film a 2 minute video?” Great question, Exhibit A.^

Can you tell Alex had fun editing this🫢#

Disfruto… 🌹🖤

Here’s a snippet of our non-bachata bachata demo to our first concept class *Comfort in the slow*
We invited our students to explore movement outside of bachata, listen to each other and completely lean into the present moment 😌

And what better place to do it if not at London’s bachata haven @bachataplayground, thank you for having us and for your wholesome contribution to our community!!

The only thing we take seriously is having fun 🤩

It was a pleasure to have @algodance join us last week and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to experiment! What was going to be a simple steal of partners turned into this fun little moment!!

Sharing this demo backwards!! Do you want to see @algodance face when @aryan.iraj stole him from @christinew.dance???

Join us on Tuesday nights in London at @bachataplayground

‼️OUR FIRST CONCEPT WORKSHOP‼️

Knowing moves and counts is great, but knowing what to do in the pauses and the slow is even better.

‘Comfort in the slow’ is our workshop focused on giving you the tools to be present with your partner when the song embraces the ‘non bingo’ moments, and the guidance on how to use them 🧠

Maybe it’s the intro, the outro, or the vibe of the entire song itself.

We’re excited to share this with you 🫶

A more personal message from me to you…

As Cumbayé grows, I think it’s important to share a little more about what’s behind it.

For me, this has never been about growing as fast as possible or chasing a quick return. Right now, I’m choosing to reinvest almost everything we generate back into what we’re building, because I genuinely believe in what Cumbayé can become.

But beyond the events, the venues and the growth, this has always been about people.

Creating spaces where we can dance, connect genuinely, feel welcome and simply enjoy what brought us together in the first place.

And I know we won’t always get everything right.

Life is a constant learning process, and building something you truly care about is no different. We’ll make mistakes. We’ll listen. We’ll learn. We’ll forgive. We’ll improve. And we’ll keep moving forward.

I also want to thank every teacher and every member of our team. What people see every week wouldn’t be possible without your work, energy and love.

And to everyone who comes to our classes, dances at our events, shares our nights, brings a friend or simply believes in what we’re creating, thank you. You are part of this too.

Everything we’re building is being done with passion, with love and with a bigger purpose.

I don’t know exactly how far Cumbayé will go but I know exactly why I’m building it.

For the people, for the connection, for the community.

And as long as that remains at the heart of what we do,
I believe we’re building something worth believing in.
