The torchbearers for southern sludge in Australia, the mighty @sundownersludge , joined me at the @3rrrfm studios for a chat about their new album Cesspool which is a masterclass in nihilistic riffs , tortured screams and feedback. It was great to speak with them in person and spin a couple of tracks from it.

Heaps of other excellent bands on the show including- @powertriptx , @deafheavenband , @brat_band , @cyadineofficial , @dreamspeed.doom , @algormortisdm , @lighteaterisdoomed , @kilatbesihitam , @stellar_rot_official , @lumenadmortem , @werewolves_band_official , @caution_dm , @resurrectmlb , @swallower_bdm , @nasty_insects , @stabbithaandtheknifeywifeys , @shrineburnerband amongst others.

Listen back to these bands, the Sundowner interview and read the playlist all on the @3rrrfm website via their official audio on demand function!

So much heaviness that you’ll have your own gravitational pull when you’re listening to it!!!

Algor Mortis - The Art of Suffering

Brutal Death Metal from Melbourne, Australia

“The Art of Suffering” is the debut album by the Australian brutal death metal and hardcore band Algor Mortis, released on 14 October 2026. On this album, released via Bereave In God Records, the Melbourne-based band combines classic, heavy-as-a-tonne death metal with elements of slam, hardcore and deathcore.
“The Art Of Suffering” showcases Algor Mortis at their most brutal and mature. The album overwhelms the listener with the force of old-school brutal death metal and exudes that sinister atmosphere which ensures that fear is ever-present throughout every second of listening. Whilst the world is only just discovering the crossover between hardcore and death metal, Algor Mortis prove that they have been honing this fusion all along and are now ready to sweep the competition aside.

To celebrate Algor day here is a short cover of the track Spiritual Dismemberment off of their their insanely brutal and eccentric debut album The Art of Suffering which came out today. The album is ethereal and disgusting I adore this band, as a whole they create such intricate yet brutal music, inspiring me to try my best at doing the same. Algor are a huge influence for me, especially on vocals in my band @necrovore.bdm
