Part 1 Concept to Camera 🎥
One of my favorite things about directing music videos is that you get to create an entire world around a song.

When I started developing the concept for Lena Pham’s “Your Own Kind of Beautiful,” I knew I wanted the visuals to feel cinematic, glamorous, and really different from one another.

The song is about celebrating individuality and finding beauty in who you are, and I wanted to bring that idea to life in a visually exciting way.

So instead of creating one look, we developed several.

We planned these sweeping desert landscapes, oversized mirrors out in nature, intimate shots in the grass, high-glamour studio setups, and beautiful golden-hour imagery.

And the really fun part was figuring out how to make all of those different environments feel like they belonged in the same music video.

Every location, lighting choice, camera movement, and wardrobe look became part of the storytelling.

And then came my favorite part: actually getting out there with our crew and making it happen.
