Finding my rhythm again 💫

The last month or so, honestly, I’ve been struggling with myself, this sport, my own expectations, and it ultimately took me hitting at tree at nationals, DNF’ing to finally ‘wake up’. The loss of focus to sitting on the side of the trail crying, upset, and so disappointed in myself is pretty much the moment I needed to get back up and find that fight again. I’ve always kept to myself, bottle everything up, searching for my confidence, my happiness, and understanding why I do this, and in that moment, everything exploded 💥

But this… THIS reminded me why I love what I do.

Riding to top of the Divide with an incredible person @watt_wagon (who certainly inspires me in so many ways), chasing mountain views instead of expectations, and I’m finally feeling the spark coming back. The smile is no longer hiding, my chin is up, and I’m looking ahead instead of behind.

I’m feeling better about where I’m at and found the excitement again for what’s coming up. Progress isn’t always measured in results. Sometimes it’s measured by the moments that make you stop, figure out a solution, work on yourself to enjoy the process of sport again.

Here’s to finding the rhythm, one day at a time ❤️

Boulder 70.3 // 4:37:42 // 🥈AG, 🥉FOA

Still riding the high from this race. What a joy it was to return to the 70.3 distance for the first time in two years on home turf with friends and teammates cheering me on. I went into this race unsure of what to expect - between the toll that working night shift has taken on my mind and body, not working with a coach for the first time in years, and the general craziness of life these days, I had no idea what the day was going to bring. So, I went in with the goal of having as much fun as possible - and I did just that (the first pic says it all ☺️) I’m proud to say I had a smile plastered on my face from start to finish and found a joy in every step that I have not felt for a long time. While I am extremely proud of the 14 minute 70.3 PR and my first overall podium at an Ironman-branded event, I am even more stoked to have rediscovered my love for this sport and the community that it encompasses. The energy on the course was electric and it was an honor and a privilege to be a part of it. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer - you all helped make this race one I will never forget ❤️
