Here are a few images from this week, with the students from @sevenoaksschooluk .
It was an absolute privilege to have their energy and help at the allotments. Real life changing connections were made. We all worked together and shared laughter, sweat and sunshine.

In this series of photos the students are learning about sheet mulching, the magic of light blocking, weed suppressing cardboard and how to use weeds as mulch. Mulch protects the soil life from being obliterated by the hot African sun. It also assists with water retention.

Tanaka also got to give a round of fist bumps to absolutely everyone before he left for his afternoon nap. And then the kids tucked into Mariejo's veg curry pita's. Yum.

After Farai's allotment was completed, we cleared and prepared beds for our man Joel and his brother Matthew.
Then a stack of pathways were laid down using wood chips between plots and beds.

On Wednesday morning these good people painted 40+ little allotment signs and hammered them into position (in an hour!), so sites can now be easily identified.

Again, another big thank you to @travelgramsa and all of the wonderful hard-working people behind the scenes who made this dream a reality.
