📍Galle, Sri Lanka

We do love a day trip! This time we spent the morning in Galle🏰

But first, a mat pilates class @barressentialweligama and a lil breakie at Hangten rooftop restaurant, we set off on the bus to Galle. We love the buses, they are so efficient and blast some great Sri Lankan music (nothing like the buses at home🤣) 30-50 mins to get to Galle according to the bus driver, depends how fast he goes!

We wandered around the Fort through small streets with little cafes and cute shops. We stopped at the bastions, churches and the lighthouse to see some incredible dutch architecture😍 Happened to accidentally stumble across on going court, though luckily we were on the right side🤣

A midday ice cream from @isleofgelato 🍦🍦🍦 and some India trip planning to cool from the midday heat; it was like 31 degrees!

Truly, utterly, scared by a man with a snake and a man using a flute to ‘charm’ his cobra we pretty much ran back to the bus to head back to Weligama🫶🏼

📍Mirissa, Sri Lanka

A wonderful day spent in Mirissa- we woke up in Weligama and decided we would hop on the local bus to the neighbouring beachside town.

First stop breakfast before leaving @nomadsrilanka which was this insane granola bowl with curd, a long black and homemade cashew nut milk latte😍🤤

A 15 min bus ride journey turned 30 min extra walk due to the bus not wanting to stop for us but we made it to Coconut Tree Hill🌴

A walk along the beach front across Turtle Beach, a picture stop at Parrots Rock and a cool off in the ocean at Mirissa Beach👙☀️

We then headed to the main street and popped into Kade a gorgeous little boutique shop then took a short tuktuk ride to Secret Beach🏖️

This beach was like a little cove, the water crystal clear and calm tho we were warned about sea urchins near the rocks😬 a sunbathe, papaya and watermelon juice, a read and relax and we had spent a beautiful day in Mirissa!

📍Udawale National Park, Sri Lanka

We did a SAFARI!!!!🐘🐊🦌🐆

This was so much fun! A 5am pick up in Ella with all our snacks ready for the day we were brought to Udawale National Park🍃

With a keen tour guide we were taken to see Elephants🐘 including BABY ONESS!!! Spotted dear🦌, lots of birds incl peacocks🦚, jackles🐕 and buffalos🐃

We were then taken to the Elephant transit point where they rescue baby orphan elephants, feed them and rehab them to release into the wild when they are strong enough🍼⛑️ so cute, cant cope!

Han’s highlight was seeing all the teeny, tiny baby elephants and Alice’s seeing the limping elephant scratching his booty🐘 An amazing day and experience✨
