What a wonderful weekend! Saturday morning, I spent the morning with Nolan in Montevallo for his cross country meet. He did well and it was awesome to spend post race talking strategy with him. I love to watch him race and his want to improve. Lindy was with Nancy Claire in Montgomery where she was owning the volleyball court with PCA. They ended up going undefeated and won the tournament. I then went to Gardendale with @ladystix2012 for the start of the softball tournament where we played up in the 16U age bracket and went 2-1 on the day. Nathan handled his business and was in Pensacola scrimmage against John Melvin College. Of course he was by himself when he hit his home run over the 395 sign and we don’t have video. Sunday, Lindy, Nancy Claire and I headed back to Gardedale where we finished the day 1-1. To make the tournament even better, we had college coaches asking about our girls and were shocked to know that they were only 8th and 9th grade. These girls have such a bright future ahead. Can’t forget Gus…he made his first trip to softball where he was SO LOVED, so much that he couldn’t function. Nathan of course went to hit more and between his swing work and the weight room, he’s consistently at or over the 95 mph exit velo with easy, controlled swings. His work ethic and love for the game will keep him playing for years to come. Nolan got to recover yesterday because he has another race coming up and a couple of soccer matches. Of course, he went fishing on the river and enjoyed the downtime. Now, it’s Monday and time to start all over again. #wouldntchangeitfortheworld

We placed top 4 this weekend in the USSSA Impact Gold invitational tournament. It was a good start to our upcoming season. Even though it wasn’t the outcome we wanted we grew in many ways. We will continue working to reach our goals!
