After 10 years working in-house, I’ve started something of my own. TATE is an independent PR consultancy, shaping and sharing the stories of places, people and brands I genuinely believe in. Ones I want to shout about to friends, family and everyone I know!

Specialising in hospitality, I wanted to create something that brings together what I love about the industry, my own passions, and the space to balance work with motherhood (that bit is really important).

TATE combines an in-house mindset with my background as a journalist to build and share stories around the people and places I get the chance to support - from small brands with big visions to bigger brands with personality and passion.

Me chatting all things dry-stone walling on @timesradio last week with @ed_vaizey following my trip to @fowlescombe for @thetimesluxury. Are mindfulness experiences like this just fads? Or do they mark a seismic shift in the way we are choosing to spend our time to find some headspace? Spoiler alert, I don’t think it’s the former. PS, I meant slate, not marble. Although, wouldn’t a marble dry-stone wall in the heart of the Devon countryside be something to behold?

The King does it. Apparently Winston Churchill did it. My father-in-law did it. I have long been fascinated by the meditative benefits of dry-stone walling. So, when I heard that @fowlescombe Farm now offers it as a mindfulness activity, I hot-footed it down to Devon to find out more for @thetimesluxury . It didn’t disappoint. Neither did the burnt leek gougeres. Thank you Fowlescombe for having us. The perfect farm retreat, we will be back.

Oh @fowlescombe, what a treat. The food, the farm, the gardens, the pickled asparagus, Basil the dog. And if there is anything more cosy than sleeping in a converted barn as a storm howls outside, I’m yet to discover it. I’ve written a lot about heritage skills recently so it is such a treat to head down to Devon to do some casual Monday stonewalling at @fowlescombe and find out more about this amazing ancient craft. One that is much trickier (or perhaps just as tricky) as it looks. I can’t promise my efforts will still be standing in 600 years, or even six weeks, but I learnt a lot. Including which way round the gloves go…so that’s a win. #stonewall #heritagecrafts #heritageskills #farmlife #onthetools
