Last Shows Tonight – Coomera!
This is it, darlings – your final chance to catch the scandal in Coomera!
We’ve laughed, we’ve gasped, we’ve served and tonight we go out with a bang.

Don’t miss your last chance to witness the chaos, the glamour and the jaw-dropping moments everyone’s been talking about.

Final shows tonight – book now or forever wish you had.

Today I’m dismantling something I’ve had since I learned to tie my shoes. I remember keeping my shoes in it next to my bed back when it had dinosaurs and planets on it.

It was the stage for my first solo circus act with juggling and then with hoops. In both acts I decided not to touch the ground which later became as me a floor is lava motif. In this way it reminds me of the advice and encouragement I got at the time from Jane, Neisha, Heidi and Honora.

Then I decided it was a magic trick! I started making modifications, adding secret doors and latches and constantly breaking and reinforcing it which is when my dad gave me my first power tool (a drill). At one point I used my new trick in a comedic strip act, and in uni as the opening for my “morning routine” which involved attempting to change my underwear without taking my pants off. In a short conversation with Hayden about this act I learned a lot about my own creative process.

Before that though, I learned to handstand on it! and I start stacking crates on it too thanks to Mary daring me “why don’t you go one higher?” Eventually that led me to hand standing on chairs but even later to naming my business milk crate circus.

I built a new box back in 2013. I had run out of room to put more screws in to hold it together so I had a copy built out of aluminium. It lacked the charm of the original but it eventually became my iconic planet lava rocket ship.

I’m moving home now for a bit which means selling stuff, giving stuff away and throwing stuff out. I’ve been pretending not to be sentimental because it’s all just stuff after all. But I’ve decided to keep the door since this box opened so many creative doors for me.
