If I could capture the immensity of @medicinefestival within a single word it would be…

Indigeneity.

A prayer where many rivers converge, where the offerings from many fires tended within many traditions across this great world are shared with a pure intention to help each other remember where we come from.

A place to remember that we all belong to the Holy Mother, to Great Creator Spirit, and that we are all called to express our divinity through our sincerity and devotion… that we must do so with all our full convicted hearts.

And that within the totality of our humanness exists shadow, distortion, extractive programming, cringey attempts at performing spirituality, and at the root of it all, ancestral wounds and soul fractures that only love, understanding & restoration of our innate innocence can heal.

Within this 5 day living prayer amongst 12,000 people I really experienced the full spectrum and moved with a deep perceptive contemplation of how I want to be in this season of my womanhood

And the answer I received was to return
Return
Return
To my forgotten roots

I wept rivers of remembrance as I felt my ancestors singing me home in an embrace of bone deep belonging.

I know my soul chose to experience many rivers, many teachings and traditions as valid and true paths home…

And now I know as I prepare for motherhood and enter into a journey of pre-conception that it’s time to pilgrimage through my own bloodlines as there is an untouched aspect of myself there, laying in the soil, beckoning me to remember her.

There was an ancient well of sorrow that opened in my body, the deepest longing I’ve ever felt.

And this is what I’m walking with now. It’s mysterious and beautiful.

Summer time life- always the full spectrum, it seems

I’ve spent the last two summer solstices at @earthdaughtersfestival and this year, it just wasn’t aligning for me to go. I was super disappointed at first, but eventually made peace with missing it.

Then, two weeks before the festival, a dear sister gifted me a ticket. Even then, I resisted. It felt impossible. But then, another dear sister planted the seed that maybe it was possible (how lucky am I to have so many wise women in my life!!) From there, everything started falling into place.

This year became a ceremony of birth, rebirth, postpartum, and all the medicine this season has brought me.

The weekend was filled with the most beautiful, synchronistic moments. There were so many times I could literally feel my heart bursting out of my chest with joy and gratitude.

I laughed. I cried. I danced. I swam naked in the river. I prayed. I watched the stars. I danced barefoot in the forest. I moved rage through my body. And, most importantly, I gave myself permission to simply show up and just BE.

It gave me sooo much hope and I felt incredibly light the entire weekend.

And with experiencing so much light, came the realization of just how dark parts of my reality had become on this journey through postpartum, and how there have been some incredibly hard moments this past season.

It has stretched me in ways I never could have imagined.

And with the stretching, I’m learning to root down deeper into the humanness of every experience while staying tethered to something greater, to the belief that everything is happening for me, and that every moment holds an invitation to grow.

I’m so thankful for this life.

I’m thankful for this body that has carried me through every chapter.

I’m thankful for the people who held me when I couldn’t hold myself.

I’m thankful for all of the seasons.

I’m thankful for all of it ✨
