Advanced Reformer Pilates A recent class with the amazing team at @alignandreform It isn’t just heavier springs and overly creative sequences. It’s the advanced repertoire that requires true understanding of Pilates and true mind to body connection. It doesn’t mean we just skip footwork, it means you already know it and I can add challenges and variations without having to necessarily teach it you from scratch. I think there’s a misconception with advanced classes that if you’re strong they’re for you, and actually it’s not the case. It’s for those who practice regularly and understand their body well. The movements are tough and do require deep understanding. We work on fast transitions and moving from exercise to exercise with flow and intention. I had the absolute pleasure of teaching the instructor team at @alignandreform and we had so much fun!! If your studio is interested in hosting advanced classes for your team get in touch. Woweeee! 🤍✨ ONE whole year since we opened the doors to Align & Reform and what a magical year it has been! 💫 From a building site and a big dream to the beautiful space we get to call home every single day… What a journey!! 🥹 Watching our little business grow so organically, seeing our teachers somehow raise the bar week after week, witnessing friendships form, confidence grow and hearing the most heartfelt words about what this space means to so many people… nothing quite compares! More than anything, we’re proud of the community we’ve created together. Wednesday crew that’s week 4 🌴 over and out! We’re delving back into our long stretch series from next week as we build up to our controls back which is from the ADVANCED repertoire! Layers for EVERYONE! Feet on the footbar = more spring tension and harder for that upper body! We might even play around with 🔵🔴 spring tension for more of an abdominal challenge in week 4! Or even a cheeky push up (I know @pilatesbyibby can demo this but I CANNOT 😂)

The consistency of the clients at this studio is 😻 my Monday crew are absolute dream boats and even though we just did week 1, I’ve just written next months class plan with a few advanced moves broken down for them to work towards! When you’ve got clients who listen to you & their bodies, know their capabilities and choose movement quality over keeping up with their neighbour, you can have WAY more fun with programming 🩷🪩 here’s to running through @the_pilatesprogramme advanced manual again and having some fun with my own movement!!

1 year of Pilates ✨ A year ago I stepped into my first reformer class at my local studio, @alignandreform , a brand new beginner to the world of Pilates. I fell in love with reformer instantly, the way it’s helped me has been amazing! No more back pain, better posture and mobility. But for me the real life changing thing has been the improvement in my mental health. Last year I was quite new into my ED recovery, on antidepressants, constantly stressed and anxious. A year later, I’m off of my medication, feeling so much more mentally stronger, and the happiest I’ve ever been 🥹 and after years of hurting and hating it, I finally love and appreciate my body so much. I feel strong in every sense of the word 🫶🏻 And now, I get to pass that love of Pilates onto others. Never in a million years did I think me, someone who’s struggled with weight, body image and anxiety would ever be in this industry! I LOVE being a Pilates instructor and can’t wait to be fully qualified veryyyy soon (1 final exam to go!) A huge thank you to all the wonderful instructors and staff at align and reform, for helping me fall in love with Pilates, helping me with my exams and training, and also creating the best community. And here’s to my 200th class with you today!! 🫶🏻💪🏻
