A few techniques I use to avoid a fluid filled double chin!

There are so many reason you may be holding fluid in your face/chin. A lot of clients experience build up from a tight neck/poor posture, forward shoulders, that “bump” in the back of your neck. This is why the facial lymphatic treatment exists 👌We determine what’s causing the build up and treat the problem. We don’t just Gua sha and massage the face there’s a little more to it then that!

The way a treatment begins can influence how the body receives everything that follows.

Slow, intentional touch gives the nervous system a moment to pause, feel safe, and begin shifting out of a heightened state. Before we work on muscles, fascia, or lymphatic flow, we create space for the body to Relax and receive.

Core Functions of the Spleen

Transformation & Transportation (Yun Hua):
The Spleen extracts nutrients and fluids from food, transforms them into Qi, and helps transport them to create energy and blood.

Governing the Blood:
The Spleen helps keep blood within the vessels. Weak Spleen Qi may contribute to easy bruising or bleeding.

Dominating the Muscles & Limbs:
The Spleen provides nourishment to the muscles and limbs. Strong Spleen Qi supports strength, energy, and stamina.

Holding Organs in Place:
The Spleen’s upward-moving Qi helps keep the organs in their proper position and prevents prolapse.

Housing the Intellect (Yi):
The Spleen is associated with concentration, memory, studying, analytical thinking and focus

Travel with me as someone who prioritizes low inflammation, steady movement and a balanced diet.

If you are prepping for a trip or just prepping yourself for some new lifestyle routines here are a few of mine!

Walking after every meal, 8-10,000 steps a day
Lower impact movement like reformer pilates, mat Pilates, barre, movement that is focused more on body weight vs external weights.
Whole foods, creating meals that are fun & filling are key to wanting to eat meals that fuel your body and make you feel good. I like to cook with different spices, flavoured olive oils or balsamic. Eating meals with variety and flavour are much more enjoyable than plain chicken. Spice it up!
Leaving the house with your bed made, your kitchen tidy and your front entrance clear gives you a sense of grounding and calmness when you return home.
Winding down properly at night with some tea, a book, taking away the screen, contrast shower, legs up the wall with red light therapy allows your body to wind down and preps you for a restful sleep. 😴💛
