#repost @alihallock This year broke my soul. Being paralyzed in my own body, unable to swallow my own saliva but so consciously aware of what was happening to me, changed me. It was a mental beat down unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.

I find myself thrown into the depths of my medical anxiety and PTSD at the most random of times. Moments like the quiet hours of the night when everything seems so calm and still.

Sometimes, I slide my legs in between the sheets, lean my head back against our raised Sleep Number bed frame with all my stacked pillows, and I am filled with flashbacks of laying paralyzed in this exact same place, feeling like I was dying. I haven’t lowered my bed frame back down to where it was before the botulism, before the neck brace, choking on my saliva, and being re-infected with Pseudamonas bacteria in my lungs. I don’t fully know why, but I think part of me is scared.

My heart starts racing, my palms get sweaty and clammy, and I feel an uncontrollable anxiety begin to brew inside me. Like everything is on fire and I don’t know how to contain it.

I’m immediately taken back to the lower back pain and full body aches from spending 22+ hours a day in bed, barely able to move. The agony of trying to move just a few inches while all those muscles were paralyzed, and the only thing holding my head upright was a c-collar strapped around my neck. The uncomfortable pinching feeling of the PEG tube in my abdomen with every movement and use of my stomach muscles. The blurry vision and dizziness that made it unbearable to open my eyes at times. All of it comes rushing back.

Thankfully, it doesn’t take me long to refocus my thoughts, and to remind myself I’m not there anymore. I’m not paralyzed. I can swallow and breathe, and move. I have no uncomfortable objects attached to my body to help keep me alive.
I am healing. I am free. I am safe.

I will never take these simple moments for granted. This moment of feeling safe and comfortable in my bed, and in my body that is healing.

Those broken pieces of my soul are becoming less jagged as they are filled in with hope, joy and safety. And I love this beautifully complex being I’m becoming.♥️

Botox Put Me In ICU

Botox put Ali in the ICU for 10 days. She had been getting the injections to treat her migraines for years, but a rare complication caused her muscles to become paralyzed and Ali couldn't even swallow on her own anymore.

Wow! It’s surreal to look back at these videos over the last six months… the progress is incredible! Six months ago, I was paralyzed in my own body with #botulism after receiving Botox for my migraines that spread from where it was injected. While I still suffer from lingering issues, my recovery so far has been nothing short of miraculous. Last night, I was able to attend a concert with my family and witness the joy and music through the eyes of my three beautiful kids. It is the greatest gift I could ever ask for, getting to truly LIVE this life with my precious family!!🫶🏼

Ela teve botulismo neste ano de 2024 após aplicar injeção de botox para enxaqueca. Teve paralisia, inclusive respiratoria e ficou na UTI, respirando por aparelhos, até se restabelecer. Ninguém sabe o efeito do botulismo a médio e longo prazo porque não é estudado. Perfil @alihallock.

Mais uma vez afirmo: se a toxina botulinica cair na corrente sanguínea levará o paciente a ter a doença do botulismo.

I had reaction to Botox as well , and it inspired me to build my concept of face workouts .

I have been following Alicia’s story since beginning and so happy she is doing better @alihallock You are so strong to go through this !

Caso de Botulismo com MAIONESE.
1 pessoa morta, 150 contaminados, 75 internados, 20 deles na UTI em cuidados intensivos. Todos comeram hamburguer 🍔 na rede Hamburgini, em Riad - Arábia Saudita.

Botulismo existe em nossos dias e continua a levar pessoas a óbito. Por isso palestro a respeito. É preciso que haja conscientização de quem fabrica o produto, de quem vende e de quem consome, em todos os níveis.

Não me admira, embora seja inaceitável que 1 profissional de saúde em formação assim pense, com tamanha desinformação... já vi biomédicos dizerem a mesma coisa. Cortei o nome porque a intenção não é envergonhar ninguém, mas trazer o alerta.

Pessoal, BOTULISMO IATROGÊNICO acontece por aplicação de BOTOX ou DE DROGAS INJETÁVEIS. 💉 💉 💉 💉

Há casos reportados no mundo - atualmente um surto nos EUA e alerta da @anvisaoficial aqui no Brasil para botox adulterado, inclusive. Tenho dito e repetido: mesmo quando aplicado na dosagem recomentada para tratamento ou estético, botox pode levar a pessoa a desenvolver botulismo. Falsa aplicação de BOTOX causa surto de doença com sintomas associados ao BOTULISMO em 19 estados dos EUA. 9 pessoas foram internadas, 4 delas receberam a antitoxina, todas mulheres.

Aplicação de botox é coisa seríssima e deve ser feita por profissioal habilitado para fins médicos. Mesmo neste casos, para tratar dor crônica, temporomandibular ou enxaqueca, pode levar o paciente a desenvolver a doença do botulismo, isso porque a bactéria do Clostridium botulinum está presente no botox junto com outras substâncias.

A @alihallock é um caso que trouxemos de uma americana que aplicou botox para tratar enxaqueca e desenvolveu botulismo ficando um tempo na UTI. Ela posta vídeos e fotos do hospital em seu perfil.

Todavia, neste novo 'surto' que ocorre nesta semana nos EUA, o botox é falsificado!!! Se até o botox certo, aprovado pelo FDA pode causar problemas, imagine esta substância falsa.

Repense, meu caro, seguidor, aplicação de botox - ainda mais para fins estéticos e por profissionais não habilitados.

Botox almost killed me: @alihallock shares her harrowing experience being injured by Botox after going in for migraine treatments.

“The toxin spread to her neck muscles, leaving her reliant on a brace to keep her head straight - and unable to move the area.

The drug caused her throat muscles to malfunction, limiting her ability to swallow. This led to a dangerous build up of mucus in her lungs and throat, which caused her to choke and stop breathing.

If it weren’t for imminent treatment, doctors said she would have died.

She said she ‘stupidly’ waited until day nine to go to the hospital and was admitted to the ICU straight away.” @dailymail

Ficou na UTI e hoje usa sonda GTT e esse colar para segurar o pescoço.

Botulismo não é uma dor de barriga! É lesão cerebral axonal, atinge os músculos e órgãos do corpo, de tal forma que se a pessoa não estiver na UTI com aparelhos que supram as funções vitais como respirar e urinar ela vem à @bito. A doença deixa sequelas e leva-se anos para voltar ao normal... num esforço diário.

Botox deve ser aplicado por profissional habilitado e que saiba socorrer em caso de parada cardiorespiratoria. E, mesmo aplicado nas dose certa, para tratamento de saúde, pode levar ao botulismo. Cuide-se.

Espero que @alihallock se recupere cada dia mais, assim como me recuperei do botulismo. Não é um processo fácil, mas iremos vencer essa. Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷.

He stayed in the ICU and today uses a GTT probe and this collar to hold his neck.

Botulism is not a stomach ache! It is axonal brain damage, it affects the muscles and organs of the body, in such a way that if the person is not in the ICU with devices that support vital functions such as breathing and urinating, they come to @bito. The disease leaves consequences and it takes years to return to normal... a daily effort.

Botox must be applied by a qualified professional who knows how to help in the event of cardiorespiratory arrest. And, even applied in the right dose, for health treatment, it can lead to botulism. Take care.

I hope @alihallock recovers more every day, just like I recovered from botulism. It's not an easy process, but we will overcome this. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷.
