. #motherhood #pregnancy #love #mumlife

If we do it, we do it properly. That was the vibe when Aline and I started talking about the launch of her new identity: "Sooo... when and how do we introduce all this to the world?" For her, it only made sense to launch, once her website was on the same level. The thought of changing the whole site herself filled her with dread though. So of course, I was more than happy to take on her website rebuild too. We started from scratch. Swapping bits on an existing site is a recipe for disaster town and a guarantee for overwhelm. And overwhelm is something we're deffo anti. Starting from zero allowed us to create a site that A) clearly communicates what she does, to the right people. Having run through BRICK - my brand strategy workshop - the copy was almost there already. B) holds and lifts her beautiful images, without distract from them. We opted for a toned-back palette, using only her white "Lace" and sexy burgundy "Malbec" but have the layout add personality. C) she can easily update herself. This was actually the one and only thing we didn't agree on at first. She'd been using WordPress and I'm gonna be honest, I tried to move her onto another platform called Framer. I couldn't convince her: "I'm already used to one evil and don't want to get used to another." Totally fair. 'Cause at the end of the day, it's not about what I think is easier to use. It's about what she's comfortable using day to day. So WordPress it was. :)

It's hard enough for a solo brand to grow and thrive as is. It is extra freaking hard without a brand system around it. Reinventing the wheel. Constantly. Loads of different fonts, colours and graphics floating around. Paralysis every time Canva's opened. What to say, what not to say? Not only does it cost you loads of time, it gnaws away at your credibility too and it can take people freaking ages to even recognise that it's you in the first place! If this sounds familiar, lemme tell ya, you are deffo not alone. Aline was in a very similar boat. Frankenstein-Brand at hands and dreading to create new things. For me it was super key that she's got as big a system around her as possible, visually AND verbally, and it consistent of 4 main things: 1 // her positioning and core message, so she knows what to say - as well as what not to say - plus targeted client questionnaires that help her collect their exact words, so she can keep sharpening and refining her message. 2 // a brand kit including all the essentials like a logo family, colour palette, font pairings, graphic elements and direction on layout and imagery which allows her identity to easily span across all different touch points. 3 // document and IG templates in her tool of choice, AdobeExpress, including content ideas she can work with straight away and a service guide prepped and designed, so there's no more need to stare at a blank screen 4 // a website in WordPress, again, her tool of choice, that's now tied into all of it - words and visuals! And one that she can now finally manage and upkeep herself. It's all intertwined. Wherever people meet her, be it on Instagram, on her website or in real life, it's unmistakably her and she's perfectly prepped to show up wherever needs be. x

A rebrand that got a whooole lotta love! ✨ Aline's been in the wedding photography biz since 2012 and had done her own DIY brand and rebrand, over and over again. A real classic. And it works, up until a point. For her, that point came when she wanted to venture out of her referral bubble and start attracting couples who don't know her yet. People who value her craft and would want her to join those destination weddings that'd take her and her camera all around the world. In order to do that, she felt she needed a brand that actually does her work justice. That's when she reached out. Before we jumped into design, we picked her brand apart during 4 strategy workshop sessions, covering her brands substance, traget audience, positioning and secrete juice. It really helped us lay the foundation to build: ✨ her core message and POV, plus questionnaires so she can keep refining it in her clients' own words ✨ her visual identity (or actually2-in-1, which I'll touch on soon), that fully embodies her personality ✨ a system toolkit she could use straight away, like social templates and a service guide, so she's not reinventing the wheel every time she wants to whip up a post ✨ and last but not least, her website, where it aaalll came together, verbally as well as visually, and that she's finally fully in charge of Thank you so so much for all your trust and wonderful collab @alinegerber.ch It's been a little dream to help you out on your journey and I cannot wait to see where this will take you next! Hopefully somewhere hotttt, on a gorgeous boat!! ;) I'm expecting piccies if you do!! x
