Solidarity of the #media: “Russian society is in need of reliable reporting, not reporting that is distorted by propaganda or fake information” says @alisakustikova whose brave, impactful reporting won her a #TFYoungJournalist Award.
In June, Alisa spoke out for detained journalist #IvanGolunov known for his work probing corruption -“I was one of thousands of Russian journalists taking to the streets to say “no" to an attack on journalism.” Alisa's investigations for @novayagazeta include coverage of a loan company that tricked thousands and the astonishing practice of ‘carousel voting’ during elections. She is the first Russian to win the prize: http://www.thomsonfoundation.org/latest/nothing-but-the-truth-the-young-journalists-defending-media-freedom/ #defendmediafreedom
