POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This month, I decided that I’d finally say yes to, AND organise things that have been sitting in my to do list for far too long. Here’s the wrap up…

1. Book a short trip away, solo.
My work has always allowed me to keep Xavier close, and while this remains true, I took an opportunity to visit interstate clients without my little sidekick. As a completely solo parent, this took a lot of planning and positive self talk. 🫠

2. Attending the @somascanmovementaustralia Dinner Dance. Every single year, my sister @jessicabecharacollet and her inlaws work for countless hours to prepare for this night. I’ve always donated (I even won the raffle prize one year, albeit remotely) so this year, I put on my favourite 14 year old olive green dress and actually attended to support this beautiful community.

3. Lunch at Marta - a couple of years ago, I compiled a list of places in Sydney I wanted to try. Last Saturday when asked what he wanted for lunch, Xavier said “a ham and cheese sandwinch” (not a typo). So instead of staying home and making one, off we went to the place I had bookmarked in 2023. We enjoyed both savoury and sweets, all delicious! He loved it. So did I.

4. A tall ship twilight cruise in Sydney harbour- Xavier has been eyeing out this boat for years. He calls it the pirate ship and never fails to ask if he can ride on it whenever it passes us by. With a little googling and ticket booking- last week, I surprised him.

5. High tea at the Hydro Majestic Blue Mountains- my bestie and I scheduled some much needed time out. So we thought this experience would be the perfect way to kick off our day. The views were perfect. Our recommendation is to go for the ambiance, tea and coffee only. The food? Not fresh at all😳

6. The Japanese Bathhouse. Wow. Multiple dipping pools ranging in temperatures. A herbal sauna. Stunning views. Relaxing tea experience. 3 hours to switch off, completely worth it. It was like walking through a portal stepping into Japan.

7. Add 3 titles to the “read” list: “Before The Coffee Gets Cold” by Toshikazu Kawaguchi, “Atlas of the Heart” by Brene Brown, and “The Unexpected Joy of Being Single” by Catherine Gray.

Here’s to March!

Double Drop! 'Onus Meum Leve' translates from Latin to 'My Burden is Light' - Matthew 11:30. This is the Motto of The Somascan Fathers. A big thank you to @ali.desousa for designing this t-shirt.

Limited few are available at Saint Josephs Moorebank. Contact Alison @somascanmovementaustralia to get your hands on one. All proceeds from those t-shirts go towards Somascan Movement Australia and the work they do overseas.

The power of a mother’s prayer is unimaginable, especially if the prayer invokes the great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
