POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Driving to work this morning, I saw a double rainbow defiantly shining through rain and clouds. It moved me to tears as I thought about what happened 25 years ago. September 11th is always somber. It’s so close to my birthday. I always feel weird, but this year feels especially heavy.
I got engaged. I lost my Gran. I lost my youth pastor. My friends are getting married. My friends are having babies. I’m falling in love with new hobbies. I’m watching new movies, reading new books, listening to new music. The seasons of my life are changing. I’m about to age another year.
I am continuing to experience the highs and lows of life, while everyone who lost their life 25 years ago never had a chance to see another day. Everyone who has died since, as a result of sickness, suicide, or the succeeding wars, their chances were stolen from them. Their experiences are forever frozen in time.

I never understood why adults always say your 30s are the best. I think I’m starting to get it now. They’re really hard, but for the first time, you’re the one in charge. It’s scary and it’s fun and it’s been full of love. I feel so privileged to be where I am and who I’m with after everything I’ve trudged through over the last several years.
Anyway, here’s an assortment of people and things and memories from the last few months for which I am so grateful.

And Gran, the Cowboys are lookin’ good. I think this might be our year 💙

Leaving a lot in 2025, but taking a lot of other things with me into 2026 - drunken mirror selfies, traveling our beautiful planet, voting like our rights depend on it (they do), naked portraits of women, chugging a drink on the big screen at a ballgame, sunshine, and the loml !!!!

SHE -
is smarter than me,
is cooler than me,
has better eyebrows than me,
can rap “Satisfied” from Hamilton start to finish with no mistakes (yes really),
watches Star Wars anytime I ask,
gets me sparkling water from the fridge when I beg,
puts up with me singing the same song for 5 hours straight,
eats soup more than anyone I know,
hates the heat as much as I love it,
will go to any concert with me,
can tell you the year any movie was released,
reads more classic literature than normal people,
feels deeper than anyone,
makes me laugh so hard tears roll down my cheeks,
understands my sense of humor in a way no one else does.

Happy 25th to the best little sister. No one gets me like you🖕🏼

my sister said it best - in a lot of ways, 2023 was somehow both the worst and best year of my life
