40th B-day. 26.2 miles. One hell of a weekend.

The marathon was crazy hard. Not the race I imagined or the race I trained for. I hit a wall early, overheated and dehydrated, got some gnarly blisters, and wanted to quit more than once. But I kept moving. And I crossed the finish line.

To all my friends and family who supported, encouraged, checked in, cheered, showed up, and believed in me through this whole journey: THANK YOU!

I’m especially grateful to a few people who got me to the finish line. My sister @melissa.zaiser, who ran her first half marathon yesterday and was a fierce accountability buddy! My friend Braden @vague_bagel, who jumped into my 20-mile training run and ran the last 8 miles with me. And the MVP, @alisonmonday, who met me at mile 18 of the race and ran with me nearly 8 miles. She coached me, encouraged me, and refused to let me quit. I genuinely could not have finished without her. ❤️

Turned 40 Saturday. Ran my first marathon Sunday. It was messy and painful and absolutely nothing like I thought it would be. But I did it. And I’m incredibly grateful that I get to be here, in this life, in this body, surrounded by these people.

26.2. Done. 🏅❤️🏃‍♂️

My first time back on stage in nearly 8 years… and what an absolute honor and privilege it was to return in Anyone Can Whistle with @minneapolismusicaltheatre, under the vision of the incomparable @maxwhattimeisit, alongside an unbelievably talented cast and crew.

To my friends and family who showed up with love and support (both in these photos and beyond), thank you. Sharing this with all of you meant the entire world.

This has been one of the most challenging years of my life, which made stepping back into the magic of theatre all the more meaningful.

Here’s to whatever comes next — once I figure out what that is.
