Redwood City showed up for Tennis on the Square 2026 🎾☀️

DH Distribution was proud to sponsor the event with our custom netting solution, helping transform Courthouse Square into a red ball tennis experience for the community. From first-time hitters to competitive rallies, the energy all day was incredible.

A huge thank you to Dave Houston, Cheryl Houston, and Poncho for being part of such a fun day, along with two Stanford tennis players who put on an awesome doubles match for the crowd. Seeing tennis bring generations together right in the heart of downtown Redwood City is what it’s all about.

Special thanks to everyone who stopped by, picked up a racquet, and made the event such a success. 🎾

They came from Quebec, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Palo Alto, and Palm Springs. They played on Synthetic Grass in Sorrento, then the famous grass at Kooyong, and then the clay and grass at The Royal South Yarra. They saw Federer and Agassi and Carlitos and Aryna, they saw Madison Keys and Ben Shelton and a whole slew of the greatest players in the world, fighting for their professional lives. It was truly more fun than one group could stand. We’re taking applications for Academy Oz 27 and The Rome Academy, the best week in tennis, is May 5.

Art Bias thanks our 2025 donors! In homage to the 2025 Centennial pavement mural, Art Bias installed the names of our 2025 donors on the pavement in front of our building! Find your name and find names of your friends and colleagues - all champions of art & culture on the Peninsula.

The sidewalk sticker uses durable, weather-resistant laminated vinyl with strong, slip-resistant coatings and adhesives for concrete for longevity against foot traffic and the elements. You can see it in the rain in this reel!

While only the donors of $150 and above were listed on the donor walk, all our 2025 donors will be listed on our website in early January. Every donation is appreciated and makes a big difference in keeping our creative community strong.

Thank you to former Art Bias board member and President Jeanette Karthaus for her work on the Donor Walk design!!

In October, Art Bias saw the departure of two longtime volunteer board members, Jeanette Karthaus, President, and Alistair Jeffs.

Jeanette had served as President for over 3 years and was most recently acting as Interim President. Alistair had completed two terms for a total of 4 years. A pizza and cupcake party added a note of celebration and gratitude to their departure meeting.

Thank you for your loyal service. Our gratitude is deep, and we are fortunate to count on you as friends into the future.

Champion the largest mural in the history of San Carlos by donating to the Art Bias Empower Fund!

This 6,000 square foot mural celebrates the city’s 100 years of progress and innovation!

By donating to Art Bias today, you grow pride in our shared history and collective identity and promote social cohesion!

In addition to creating public art such as the Centennial mural, your donation covers essential expenses so Art Bias can continue:

· providing below market rate studios to 56 artists. After 33 years, we remain the largest studio center on the Peninsula.

· providing free art classes to our community partners: 150 hours to low income seniors at HIP Housing, 56 classes to adults with intellectual disabilities from One Step Beyond, 120 sessions for youth mentees from Sequoia High School, and much more, all in the last 3 years.

· hosting monthly free First Sunday Open Studios (41 and counting!) for thousands of guests of all ages and backgrounds.

· empowering artists to develop work that is shared in 100s of locations locally, across California, the US and the world including Spain, Turkey, Japan and beyond.

· displaying dozens of rotating exhibitions in our gallery that won Art Bias Best Art Gallery of San Mateo area in 2024 and 2025.

All donor names, at all levels, are displayed on our website. AND this year, all donors will receive an invitation to the closing celebration of the Centennial mural at the end of the summer!

- When you donate $150 or more, your name will be added to the Donor Walk at Art Bias! This will be a new addition on our entry sidewalk that honors Art Bias’ Centennial pavement mural on Laurel Street.

- When you donate $500 or more, you will receive a personal tour of the Centennial mural with an Art Bias artist or board member.

The link to donate is in our bio.

Thanks to your generosity, Art Bias will continue to grow, inspire, and strengthen a vibrant creative community on the Peninsula.
