Almost a month in Bucharest, slowly trying to see the city beneath the surface. Two more months ahead. Wondering what it will reveal. Thank you, Arc Bucharest, for this opportunity.

Experimentelles Theater
2025, Käferklause Dresden
DuoDoppelpunkt with Aliveduo
Länge: 60 min
Sprachen: Englisch, Deutsch

Year of creation: 2025, premier at Käferklause Dresden
DuoDoppelpunkt with Aliveduo
Duration: 60 min
language: english, german

Kürmel describes things that have no fixed place, which makes it much
harder to clean them up, like the forgotten bonbon paper in your bag or
the pasta machine you received as a gift three years ago. Even a chestnut
you slipped into your pocket on your last autumn walk can be Kürmel.

The experimental theater piece Kürmel is dedicated to things that have no fixed place, which makes it much harder to clean them up. The audience members bring their own Kürmel, which are explored together with the performers. Unlike in traditional theater, the objects themselves take the lead: engraved table boards guide step by step an exploratory journey through sound, shape, color, and story.

Duration: 10:10 min

For Focus on Green, we developed a scenic text collectively over the course of two weeks. The film was subsequently created during two days of shooting in a soundproof room at the Institute of Acoustics and Speech Communication at TU Dresden.

Driven by nostalgic desire, a group of old friends gather to reconstruct a moment of their past. In a dry model space, they find themselves confronted with the irreversibility of time and their incapability of accepting the loss of ones own past.

⏳ The countdown continues!

Today, we’re introducing one of our Residency artists: aliveduo. ✨ @aliveduo.team

aliveduo, formed by Alena Starostina and Ivan Nikolaev, is an artistic partnership working in the field of time-based media. They were born in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 2010, they co-founded theatre post, which became one of the leading voices on the local experimental scene.

After relocating to Germany in 2022, they began working as aliveduo, exploring an interdisciplinary approach in which stage presence and film projections, everyday movements and live sounds interact within a shared space, creating a kind of performative cinema.

Their work is a practice of witnessing: of each other, of the past, of what was broken and what still remains.

📍 aliveduo will present their performance on 10 July 2026 as part of the festival’s Residency Programme.

Stay tuned for more artist features and programme details!

…and here we go again! ✨

The time has come: Streifen Performance Art Festival returns from 3–11 July 2026 in Görlitz.

This year’s theme, TEMPOTEMPO, approaches time not as a neutral continuum, but as a political, affective, and embodied field of tension. Between acceleration and slowness, exhaustion and desire, presence and disappearance, the festival listens to the uneven rhythms that shape contemporary life.

Bringing together international and local artists, TEMPOTEMPO opens a space for performative, sonic, spatial, and embodied inquiries into time. Through interruption, repetition, pause, and endurance, the festival explores how time is sensed, negotiated, resisted, and shared.

✨ Artists 2026:

• aliveduo (Alena Starostina & Ivan Nikolaev), RU/DE
• Manuela Büchting, DE
• Lena Czerniawska, PL
• Emrah Gökdemir, DE/TR

Premiering this week at Sophiensæle, Olympia Bukkakis and Maria F. Scaroni present ‘Unsex Me Here,’ a dance and drag performance exploring the figures of the Queen and the Witch, both in the Western historical imagination and in the queer and now. Through a kaleidoscope of ritual acts of feminist solidarity, posing as monarch, healer, drag queen, crone, trans femme and (peri)menopausal woman; they seek to understand what it means to be childless and yet fruitful, to refuse reproduction, and yet multiply.
‘Unsex Me Here’ is just one of the events included in our what’s on this week list.
See the full list at the link in bio.

Black Box —

Ballhaus OST, Berlin

[𝗘𝗡] Based on a play by Belarusian playwright Pavel Pryazhko, the piece explores the interweaving of past and present of the former Eastern Bloc. The characters exist on two temporal levels: in 1986, they are twelve-year-old pupils, in 2016 – forty-two years old, seemingly transported back to their former boarding school. aliveduo explores nostalgia with analog film and performance, as well as the disturbing repetition of behavioral patterns shaped by a legacy of violence and oppression.

Um was geht’s?
