is what i believe evident in how i live?

i think about that question often, i adjust often, lay things down often, surrender often, rely on the grace of God constantly.

when we are clear about what we say “yes” to, all other decisions become simple…maybe not easy, but simple. when i married yojan i said yes to one man, and that yes also meant billions of no’s. no matter what, no matter where, my yes forever defines my no.

saying yes to Jesus has come with innumerable things to say no to. but that one yes, has been the greatest adventure of my life - every no to what the world has to offer is far far worth it.

for what can the world offer me that Christ doesn’t offer me better & more of?

forever thankful that He takes us as we are, but loves us so much that He doesn’t leave us that way.

champion people.

be proud of them, use your words wisely, don’t get caught speaking foolishly about someone God loves deeply. be a person that others can trust. be a faithful friend. be someone that rejoices with those who rejoice, and weeps with those who weep. be real, don’t be fake. be kind, and gentle with your words. say you’re sorry when you slip up. mean it. work through the hard stuff. stay through the awkward. and be generous with your encouragement!

death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. proverbs 18:21.

^read that again & then apply it if you want to see the fruit of it in your life.

go find someone and tell them you’re proud of them, speak some life into them, tell them you’re proud of them again. be a good friend. be like Jesus.

i’m just so full of gratitude for the people in my life who’ve been encouragers, truth speakers, and loyal friends, faithful in the highs and lows. the aim of my life to be that friend for others.❣️what an honor it is to be in relationship with one another. thank you Jesus.

it’s so special the first time you enter your new space and it finally, actually, feels like home. you can’t force it or rush it, you can’t fabricate it, or hobby lobby your way there. it just takes time.

it takes time to get used to the new coat closet and junk drawer. it takes time to fill rooms with laughter and memories. and though the thrill of the new is beautiful and exciting, there’s nothing like the moment it goes from feeling new to feeling like yours. lived-in and familiar. you know where the scissors and the tape are; where that random roll of gift wrap is hiding.

i’m thankful to have called several places home, but the transition isn’t always easy. it can be difficult to leave comfort, the familiar rhythms of life, the back roads you could drive with your eyes closed. but i have learned that being attached to a place more than i am attached to Him will never feel like home. home is in His will. where the pillar of fire moves, i want to move.

i’m grateful for the places i’ve gotten to call home, and i’m grateful for my home today. but the thing i’m most grateful for is that a relationship with Jesus can also be lived-in and familiar. that we can walk with Him long enough to see seeds begin to grow roots, become trees, and bear fruit. that though the thrill of salvation is beautiful, the faith of a committed walk is a holy thing. you can’t rush it, fabricate it, or pretend your way there. He asks for our whole lives, longevity in a committed relationship. that we would find ourselves in a place where trust in Him becomes second nature because He’s proven himself worthy of all our trust so many times before. i pray that nothing in this world - no home, no dream, no location, ever feels more like home to me than being in His presence.
