Last night at the Royal Albert Hall, the Embassy was proud to host a reception celebrating the Irish Baroque Orchestra’s performance at the BBC Proms.

Ireland’s national period instrument ensemble, led by Artistic Director Peter Whelan, showcased the brilliance of Irish talent on one of the world’s most iconic stages, sharing our cultural heritage with international audiences.

We were delighted to join friends, partners and members of the Irish community in marking this special occasion and in celebrating Ireland’s rich tradition of artistic excellence.

The IBO are supported by the Arts Council of Ireland & Culture Ireland.

It was such a pleasure to join @empower.womenchangingmusic last week, alongside my fellow incredible panellists and leaders @aliye.cornish, @caitriona_frost and Kathleen Tynan in the @riamdublin!

Plenty of very important topics discussed, and I learnt so much from exploring my own experiences as well as from the perspectives of the rest of the panel.

Congratulations to @sineadmw99 and @hannah_seymour on such a successful event! 🎶💪

Wow, where do we even begin? Thank you so much to everyone who came to watch our inaugural EMPOWER event in Dublin last Wednesday in the stunningly beautiful Whyte Recital Hall @riamdublin. We felt so supported by the audience, and it was wonderful to bring together an EMPOWER in Dublin for the first time. 🇮🇪

All of our performers played so amazingly, with true integrity, and the amount of new and original music we were able to showcase on the night was a privilege. 🎶

Our panellists, @aliye.cornish, @elainekelly_conductor, @caitriona_frost, @riamopera, spoke with such vulnerability and honesty, creating an inspiring conversation which really displayed how much change has happened, but also lent in to what work still needs to be done.

Thank you so much to RIAM for providing us with the space for our event, and for believing in our mission. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! 💜

Go raibh mile maith agat ☘️
