BIG TICKET QUESTION
Do you work with OHP or accept insurance?!

•Many years of combined work in the service industry has taught us something valuable that led us here.

1️⃣ We do not believe that policy and procedures reign above client experience and intuitive preference. Therefore allowing an agency to dictate how we get to show up as doulas would run counter to this held belief.

2️⃣ Doulas are the bridge that must be reinforced. The vulnerable state of doulas in the birth realm is cause for action, not passivity.

When the patient doctor relationship no longer has a bridge of support that is centered on pre existing relationship with the laboring mom and her family values, we lose appropriate advocacy in the room.

3️⃣ Doulas are the extra eyes and ears in the room, the invited personal rather than the scheduled shift workers. These small nuances impact a mother’s ability to experience birth as seen, supported, heard, and valued.

• So we do not accept or work with insurance companies but we SEE the need and desire to take action to increase access to birth services.

Our 501 c (3) non profit arm is a living breathing representation for our love and commitment to families here. We have spent countless hours pursuing the dream to see families more properly supported while they build their families. This means practitioners are able to get paid what they are worth, and families receive that level of elite care and involvement that doesn’t come from insurance companies, it comes from humans who value one another.

DEEP ROOTS NONPROFIT
Increases access to care through collaborative funding initiatives•provides a dignified and human shopping experience•is a living room in the middle of town for you to land with your little one•provides hospitality and a space for your loved baby gear and clothing to live a second life•facilitates education for our community•is changing how we see community as we parent our next generation•needs•your•support

Down here 👇🏽

🤷🏻‍♀️Turns out when you care a lot about families…
it doesn’t stay contained to birth.

👯‍♀️We’re doulas.
But somewhere along the way we realized families need support in more places than just the delivery room.

🫶🏽So we started a tiny thrift shop with a big mission.

🛍️Every piece donated gets hung with care (no digging through chaotic bins over here), and everything is priced to actually be accessible for families.

👉🏽Because clothing your kids shouldn’t feel stressful.

🌎And the bigger picture?

🤍This micro-thrift nonprofit helps fund birth support and services for families in our community who otherwise couldn’t access them.

🪴Welcome to Deep Roots Collective.

A doula collective
A micro thrift shop
and a really big village behind it.

If you’ve been looking for community like that…
you’re in the right place. 🌿

Stay awhile. Dig in. Plant some roots with us. 😉
