Berlin Metal Playlist 2025 – Part 5

Dear Metalheads,

Just like last year, we analyzed the data Spotify provides for every track in the playlist. The data was downloaded via Exportify as a .csv file containing all 1,636 songs, and this year’s analysis is based entirely on those 1,636 tracks.

Spotify also assigns values to many additional parameters. Some of these are highly specific—such as a track’s exact duration in milliseconds or its tempo in BPM (Spotify attempts to calculate the tempo for every song).

We examined all tracks together to see how they behave as a whole, and we also looked for songs that stand out in particular metrics. We highlight a few examples here without any intention of judging bands—many results are subjective and even surprised us.

In fact, we believe it’s often quite arbitrary to try to assign abstract values to music. So once again: these results are based solely on Spotify’s data, and they do not reflect any value judgments from us. Sometimes the numbers make sense—other times, not at all…

This year we begin with metrics that are less abstract: song duration.

Song Duration

The largest cluster is around 4 minutes, with roughly 600 tracks falling near that mark.

Let’s look at the extremes:

Shortest track: exxperior @exxtom – “Marcel Funk”

2nd: @kassettenricardo – “Schon vorbei”

3rd: @muellhc – “Tanz vor Angst”

Longest track: @ingurgitatingoblivion

followed by @zeugband and @seyrofficial

Tempo (BPM)

According to Spotify’s metrics, the dataset shows a bimodal distribution in tempo.

The main peak sits around ~100 BPM, and there is a second, smaller cluster at extremely slow tempos, with a reported peak at ~10 BPM.

That’s what the data says. We triple-checked. Make of it what you will.

Slowest tracks (Spotify data):

@reflected.shadow.band – “Dämmerschlaf”

@nocturnalvoyager666 – “Eurydice”

@norestforjane_band – “2005”

Fastest tracks:

@allatomicastronauts – “For the Love of God, Please Just Get Out and Never Come Back!”

@we.are.monolith – “Horizon”

@__thepill__ – “Government whore"

Today we bring you another disturbing piece of footage that was retrieved from the abandoned phone found at Temeplhofer Feld in Berlin, Germany a few weeks ago.
In it, a Spanish-speaking male, supposedly a Colombian tourist and former owner of the phone, encounters the same alien-looking figure as in the previous video.
The strange creature seems to be performing some sort of ritual with unknown purpose. Could it be trying to make contact with its mothership that might be orbiting Earth this very moment? Is it performing some sort of mating ritual? We may never know.
The scene quickly turns chaotic when the figure notices the Spanish-speaking cameraman. What follows is truly disturbing and offers a grim explanation as to why the phone was found without its owner, whose fate remains unknown to this day.

Beware, this isn't for the faint of heart!
As always, the footage posted here is 100% real.

This footage was provided to us by a follower who found it on an abandoned phone at Tempelhofer Feld, Berlin, Germany. It shows what appears to be a Spanish speaking tourist filming his impressions of the now defunct Airport while a concert is happening in the background. The video cuts off when the presumed tourist encounters a strange and alien-looking figure.

This footage is 100% real and a stern reminder that we're not alone in the universe and intergalactic beings might already be walking among this very moment.

Today, we bring you another piece of absolutely shocking footage from what has come to be known as the "Colombian tourist incident".

In it, the Colombian tourist innocently explores a Berlin park in the rain when he encounters the same strange-looking figure as in the videos before. Has the creature been stalking him all along? What sinister plans might it hold for the tourist and all of mankind?
We may never know.

The tourist quickly walks on, trying not to provoke the gray-skinned being. But to no avail. Things turn dramatic when the creature verbally attacks him, demanding to be taken to his leader and wanting everybody to listen to the new All Atomic Astronauts single "Can't we all just get along? (Please save us, Tom Delonge)" that will be out September 23rd, 2025 on all streaming platforms.

This is truly shocking material!

I came across @allatomicastronauts and their debut album “Down To Earth” earlier this month and it’s been in my rotation since then. I love their clean, classic pop punk sound so much. My favourite track off the album is “Turn Back Time” which they also have put together an unbelievable video for that you should go check out on their page.

Hope you all enjoy it! Go give them a follow and show them some #poppunkfridays love!
