Aria Evans @politicalmovement steps into creation with @karenkaeja and @allenkaeja for their 7th lifeDUET this fall. The commission process begins at the Kaeja creative incubator Residency in Saugeen Nation / Town of South Bruce Peninsula. KDD has also commissioned their long time composer @edgardomorenomusic. K and A are thrilled to dig deep with both of these great artists, whom they have journeyed through beautiful collaborations with over the years. Looking back over the past year or so and we're reminded just how much we do in the community. Here is a sampling of some of the events from recent history and a reminder to keep a look out for more. All these events were free to the public and a wonderful opportunity to get a sense of what we've been doing the last 40 years! That's not a typo. In 2026 DCD is celebrating 40 years on the frontlines of Canada's dance story. Join us in the community and, if you believe in what we do, donate! 🥂👉 LINK IN BIO Photo 1: Book panel discussion featuring host Emilie Jabouin. On Saturday, I head off on what feels like the adventure of a lifetime. I’m honoured to be part of The Arctic Circle Residency, joining 25 artists and scientists from around the world aboard a schooner sailing through the High Arctic Archipelago for 2 weeks, nearly 800 kilometres south of the North Pole. I’ll be the only Canadian on this extraordinary expedition. For decades, my work has explored touch, balance, freeze, thaw, memory, and how the body adapts to change. In the Arctic, those questions meet a landscape shaped by ice, pressure, fracture, melt, and decay. I’m excited to learn alongside artists and scientists whose ideas will challenge and expand my own and to respond to what the environment asks of my body, as I follow my curiosity. Fun fact- did you know that Svalbard (where the journey launches) remains one of the few places on Earth where polar bears outnumber humans (2,500 people) and is the northernmost permanently inhabited region in the world. A little backyard play with my grandbaby feels like the perfect send off. ❄️💙 #ArcticCircleResidency #HighArctic #DanceResearch #ContemporaryDance #SiteResponsive ArtAndScience Choreography CreativeResearch CanadianArtist FreezeThaw MovementResearch Improvisor unexpecteddiscoveries MovementResearch futurecreations

💛🧡Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. What a stunning 🥳 celebration of our 15th anniversary! Together, we filled the streets with movement, music, laughter, conversation, and unforgettable moments. From porch to porch, audiences embraced every performance with warmth, curiosity, and joy. Porch View Dances continues to thrive because of an extraordinary community of choreographers, performers, porch dwellers, volunteers, crew, partners, donors, and audience members who believe that dance belongs everywhere and to everyone. To all who walked the route, welcomed us onto your porch, cheered from the streets, volunteered your time, supported us behind the scenes, or made a donation, THANK YOU! We are deeply grateful that you continue to be part of this journey with us 🧡
