WRITER'S NOTE: I wanted to get this post out on my birthday, but SO MUCH has been happening that I couldn't seem to write it out till now.

It's been a wild rotation 'round the sun these past 365 days; my life today is much different than it was just a year ago.

I've changed jobs twice since then, going from leading a team of 160 and getting COMFORTABLE with that over a couple of years to co-leading 1500 of some of the most PASSIONATE people I've ever seen in the social assistance sector and the 47 offices that they work from across every inch of the 917,000 square kilometres that make up Ontario.

Some friendships have grown while others have cooled off, but I've come to appreciate that everyone's going through their own challenges, and some take a lot more BANDWIDTH than OTHERS.

With the kids old enough to carry their weight (and annoy each other AND hold onto bad attitudes that the REST of us need to deal with), it's made some other things easier, and I'm trying to make as many days good ones as possible so they can turn into good weeks, months and years.

And on that note—whoever said that you only need to celebrate your birthday on the day of it alone?

For a good week or so, I rang in 43 with different family and friends, making the most of the season before going into our summer proper. There's a lot I'm learning in this decade of my life, and I look forward to sharing it with you as I make my way through the stacks of sketches and ideas that I've built up over the years.

But there's more to say than one post would ever allow me, so we'll leave it there for now. I hope your days are looking well WHEREVER life finds you in the world, and we'll continue this story sooner than later! Thanks to everyone who sent birthday wishes—here's to the year ahead!
