Ahhhh…July ❤️❤️❤️

We kicked things off the only way Atlanta knows how—celebrating Kelley’s birthday in the middle of the biggest party the city throws and happily eating our way across the GTA server I call home.

Then I got to spend nearly three weeks with my best girl, Dani, and honestly? It was everything I needed. We laughed until we cried, binged K-dramas, found every excuse to eat one more snack, obsessed over our OT7 boys, and made it official with matching sun tattoos. ☀️

July also gave me Sunday Stroll, way too many trips to HMart, the life-changing discovery of banana milk lattes, an iconic Braves game with some of the best coworkers around, BT21 Happy Meals and slow weekends soaking up sunshine with my own little sunshine as she fell in love with her new pool.

No passport stamps. No big bucket-list adventures. Just a month full of Big Fun, full hearts, and the people who remind you that life isn’t measured by how busy you are—it’s measured by who show up, love you loudly, and make even the ordinary days feel unforgettable.

July, you really were that girl. 💛

This is 40✨
This trip around the sun was the most unplanned, unhinged and unforgettable. From the decision to move to the return to our favorite city in Tokyo to the airport in Singapore. Many things happened that were not on my BINGO card for 39, but I’m grateful for the opportunities, time with family and friends, and the wonderful memories that were made. Can’t wait to see what the next trip around the sun has in store. 💜

2016 was hoppin’! Another Dopey Challenge in the books, headed west and never looked back, ran my first Princess Half, fell in love with the Sounders, visited my 50th state and ran a 10k there to boot, bought a new watch that I still use to this day, bought a bike, used said watch and bike to run a triathlon, fell in love with PNW nature, partied w/ my running fam at Disneyland, and Chicago, and Orlando, produced my first live social event with Hydro Flask, and did some trail racin’ around the Sound.

Oh, and you know, watched my beloved Cubbies win the whole enchilada! What a year.

Today’s marathon was a fiercly fought for shitshow. I had some unresolved issues from yesterday that reared their ugly head again today. In addition to that, the pocket of my vest was open and all of my fuel had fallen out. My group of friends emptied their bags and gave me anything that could work as fuel when I got to Magic Kingdom and that got me through. It was also ridiculously hot. Like hot to the point that they cut out some of the course (behind me-I did the whole thing). It was just flat out miserable and the first time that I thought of dropping from a marathon ever crept into my mind. I pushed those thoughts aside and dug deep and got it done. Afterward I sat down in the parking lot and had a little cry to release all of the emotions of the day. My friends (literally) pulled me up and held me up until the marathon brain had worn off. This is a race where I’m horrified by my time, but proud as hell of the fight I put in to get it done.
