A Great Alaskan Holiday

Alli Bargelski is easily one of the most talented and gifted filmmakers and cinematographers I’ve had the privilege to work with—and I don’t say that lightly.

The way Alli approaches the art of filmmaking is remarkable. Coming from a military background, I respect precision, preparation, and execution above all else. Alli runs a set and manages a camera pass with that exact level of military discipline. She knows what she wants, she understands what every frame demands, and she leads with a level of passion and intention that forces everyone around her to elevate their work.

Beyond her overall vision as a director and cinematographer, Alli possesses a rare mastery of lighting. That gives her an elite trifecta few possess: vision, execution, and a deep, intuitive understanding of light. It’s no surprise she has become a primary collaborator for so many directors, and that trajectory is only accelerating.

More importantly, Alli is someone I personally look forward to creating alongside for years to come.
Congratulations on graduation, Alli. 🎓 The work speaks for itself, the talent is undeniable, and the future is wide open.

See you at the top!

Canada 🇨🇦 on film 2026

These photos are a mix of my Practika point and shoot using Kodak 200, and the Canon AE-1 using Portra 400!

A few light leaks, and a few out of focus shots but they capture the feeling of camping and exploring with a bunch of wonderful people pretty well!

I spent a week camping in Canada and am forever changed. Thank you to @immylucas for hosting and for bringing twenty-two women together and turning strangers into friends. Thank you to our guides @l.horizon and Jérémy for leading us on our hikes and being DJs, drivers, chefs, and fun fact providers. Thank you to every single person I met!! I am feeling so sappy. Who wants to go camping??

how’d I get so lucky to meet a bunch of people as wonderful as you?

this week I hosted my first ever group trip, and it was everything I could have wished for and more. we hiked, camped, went white water rafting, laughed a lot, played phase 10, shared all our craft projects, burnt bagels for breakfast, took a million photos and made some pretty special memories.

I knew the Canadian Rockies were beautiful but I was blown away by how extraordinary they truly are. there will never be enough time to explore the beauty of these mountains.

Highlights:

• Iceline Summit Trail
• White water rafting on Kicking Horse River
• visiting the iconic Moraine Lake
• Sentinel Pass Hike
• Vegan options in Calgary
• Hiking on a Glacier
• Meeting 22 likeminded women

My group trip is over, but I still have a few more weeks here on 🇨🇦 to hike, and hopefully see some more wildlife!
