Kara and I were so blessed to see two of our dearest friends profess their love, intentions and promises to each other surrounded by the people they love most. What a blessing it was to be part of this moment.

A few weeks delayed, but relevant nonetheless. As I move into my 35th orbit around the sun, I can’t help but notice how different my life is than just two year ago. It would be a bit of an understatement to say that a few things have changed, because truthfully, everything has.

As I reflect back on this past year, I am incredibly grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had. That is by no means to say that everything has been easy or even “good”. This has been both one of the most beautiful and expansive years of my life, with so much growth, learning and evolution as well as one of the toughest. I have completely changed not only the way I live but where I live too. Finding new homes around the globe and new friends, who I consider family, to do it with.

Learning how to be the person I want to be and what that means for how I conduct and see myself, both within and without. Learning to trust, believe in myself, my path, and those I meet along the way. Allowing myself to have hard conversations and emotions that don’t always feel warm and fuzzy. Acknowledging that being a human is HARD but also so so beautiful and worth every second.

As I enter this next year, I am choosing myself. Choosing to be the me that is inside and shining bright. Allowing myself to go with the flow, follow my heart, and simply trust in this crazy world that I (and all of us create). Letting love, creativity, and curiosity in.

I also want to recognize the privilege in this. The fact that I am able to do this and how great of a privilege that is is not lost on me. But I believe that if we don’t take these opportunities and use them for good, we are doing a disservice to the world. So I hope that I am using my privilege for good and bringing more live and magic to our world in the process ✨
