I was grateful to spend Thanksgiving with some of my closest “chosen family” I’ve found since moving to Virginia. In multiple homes, many meals, and warm company. I missed my family, but I am so thankful for everyone I have in my life, near and far. And wow—-it’s obvious I find people who know how to eat!

Stop feeling guilty about prioritizing yourself.
.
Caring for you IS caring for your family.
.
They want you to be happy and healthy too.
.
And when you allow yourself the time and resources you need to properly care for you THEY benefit.
.
Because they get the version of you that is:
.
💃🏻 Confident.
💃🏻 Energized.
💃🏻 Fun.
💃🏻 Happy.
💃🏻 Peaceful.
💃🏻 Loving.
💃🏻 Secure.
.
Because when you take care of yourself and your own needs as much as everyone else you can stay calm and feel more in control.
.
Which makes you easier to be around.
.
And helps you take better care of them.
.
Let’s stop this BS lie once and for all.
.
Caring for you IS caring for them.
.

Lisa started working with me to lose 30 lbs and improve her health and longevity.
.
She was almost 70 and wanted to enjoy a long, active life without having to manage ongoing health conditions.
.
She also struggled with binge eating and thought she had to AVOID all carbs because they triggered the binge eating behavior.
.
She had successfully lost weight before doing Ideal Protein’s keto based diet program, the plan was too restrictive and she didn’t feel like she was eating REAL food.
.
She wanted to transition to a plant based diet to improve her heart health & lower her cholesterol, but feared reintroducing carbs would retrigger the binge eating behavior and cause her to gain even more.
.
But when Lisa was following the keto based diet she wasn’t eating any carbs and yet she still felt triggered to over eat - that’s why she regained the weight.
.
Removing carbs didn’t change the behavior.
.
Lisa didn’t need to avoid carbs to keep her binge eating in check BECAUSE carbs weren’t the real reason she felt triggered to binge.
.
The REAL reason she was triggered to binge eat was because there was a hidden unmet emotional need triggering the strong urge to binge.
.
Until she addressed THIS hidden emotional need, weight loss was impossible no matter what diet she ultimately chose.
.
So what I did was help Lisa heal the fear and anxiety at the root of her binge eating behavior using the 3 step process inside my Learn 2 Lose program.
.
Once we healed the fear and anxiety, Lisa’s urges to binge eat began to disappear.
.
She transitioned to a plant based diet and LOVED all the REAL food she was now able to enjoy.
.
She couldn’t believe the amount of carbs she was able to eat while still losing 2-3 pounds a week.
.
By the time we completed my 12 week program she had gone from a high of 162 lbs to 132!
.
If you struggle with binge eating and think you have to avoid certain foods to get it to stop, I’d love to show you how the same 3 step process that worked for Lisa can work for you too.
.

Today was my dad’s 86th birthday.
.
Unfortunately for my mom and I, he passed last Thursday and isn’t here to celebrate it with us.
.
I owe so many things to my amazing Father for which I’m grateful.
.
He is the reason I love sports - NFL football picks every Sunday, fielding and batting practice for softball every night when he got home.
.
He is the reason I love exercise - bike rides every Sunday morning, hiking Sugarloaf Mt on Saturdays.
.
He is the reason I became a nutrition coach.
.
You see, my dad survived a massive heart attack close to the time of this picture. He had type 2 diabetes, and had to undergo a quintuple bypass.
.
By the time my oldest daughter was born, he was told he had outlived that surgery and only a strict nutrition plan would keep him alive.
.
He dramatically changed his eating, and followed the severely restricted, new nutrition plan to the letter..
.
And you know what happened?
.
He LIVED!
.
He was able to spend 10 more birthdays with his grandkids.
.
10 more anniversaries with his wife.
.
See the birth of my second daughter and spend 5 extra birthdays with her.
.
And see the Braves win the World Series again! (Sorry dad, couldn’t help it)
.
All thanks to the power of food.
.
He is the reason I left radio years ago and decided to become a nutrition coach.
.
I have seen the power of what changing your eating habits, and treating food as medicine can do for you in your life.
.
Not everyone is willing to drastically do what my dad chose to do to extend his life.
.
But because he did we got 10 more years!!
.
And for that I am forever grateful.
.
Happy Birthday Daddy. Rest In Peace.
.
The next body you’ll receive will be forever young, free of diabetes + heart disease, and designed to love forever.
.
❤️
