✍🏾🔮Horror Genres I Want to Write✍🏾🔮 Part Two! What IS botanical horror anyway?? I loved The Secret Garden as a kid but also think it's a good lens to look at the climate emergency through. Because isn't there something horrific about ecosystems being forced to change because of human negligence? I'm admittedly not the most versed in this genre because I wasn't seeing as many BIPOC writers in it in the past. Books I've enjoyed: 📚When We Were Birds (you don't say?!) 📚Happy Friend Day 📚Mexican Gothic 📚I'm still in the middle of Humboldt Cut 🫣. However, now I'm seeing my BIPOC peers create incredible work, so I'm feeling inspired! 🚫🫸🏾This list is not exhaustive so keep your "what about...?" to yourself. As always, I think there's a botanical story in with a Caribbean. Trading evergreens for tropical plants and sweltering heat 🥵🌴🌺 Folks who've read my short stories: what genre do you want me to consider exploring next? 💬 Drop your wish list in the comments! Reshare and repost for part three! Hit follow for more BIPOC horror and crime.

That which is punk shall eternal lie, yet even after aeons and waves of corporate sellouts, even Punk may die. @allison_mick coming in hard this November with a reality warping, perspective twisting collection of stories. DIVE 5 💀s I say there needs to be a full cast audio adaptation, with @realbayareamemes playing random characters. Pre order it from @tenebrouspress Out November 17th. #arcreview #booksta #horrorreads #allisonmick #bookreview

It was a fantastic conversation, and so great to invite the curious individuals of Monrovia into our creepy world. Thank you @underdogbookstore for hosting and everyone who attended!

I love playing the Stabby Challenges, and September/October challenge of Choose Your Fate was so much fun! I read some great books (early by the way go me!) and quite a few fell within the same categories (Haunting such a good prompt during Spooky Season). Gotta love making reading fun and as spooky as you can. #stabbysocietybookclub #chooseyourfate #bookstagram #octoberchallenge
