541 days of this journey come to an end today.

I still remember riding bikes along the riverside with Niko two years ago. I went from a working holiday to a master’s degree. Either way, I was going to stay for a year.

I thought I would disappear into my own little world after finishing my dissertation. But then, during a hike, Sungmin invited me out for a homemade dinner. That reunion unexpectedly led me to meet so many amazing friends.

After that, Merritt and I kept going on spontaneous trips whenever we felt like it. Happy Birthday! I hope all three of your wishes come true.

And finally, I hope all of us can stay in touch. A semester may come to an end, but true friendships can last a lifetime. I hope our paths cross again somewhere in the world.

I love you all.

A hidden Easter egg: I deliberately wore the exact same outfit as I did on my first day in Edinburgh.

Have this from 2024

Hoping for another year like 2024 👏🏼 It was the best. Both Shirley Manson of @garbage and Rachel Goswell of @slowdiveofficial clocked me smiling like the Cheshire cat at their gigs ♥️ and I got to experience brilliant live music with the beautiful @flanamation @beth01_606 @gujjyz @alloutemo @irin_a_n @timnolan15 @nolseysunshine @michael_named_michael @brunnogio and Chrissy 👏🏼

Wigs and stick-on tattoos 🫵🏼 Setlists and having Nick Allbrook hold onto both of my hands to begin crowdsurfing 💫

2024: the year I became my true self

To my dear EmoFest family,

I still remember the first time I met you was last year at The Liquid Room,

I never thought the last time would also be here, and it just so happens that the vocalist is Alfie again, what a coincidence.

As someone born in the 90s, emo rock music from the 2000s has completely run through my life.

Whether I was happy, sad, in love, or heartbroken, I was always listening to these songs.

If it were not for you, I would not have had the chance to discover great bands like All Time Low and Pierce The Veil.

Tonight, you gave me a tribute on stage for attending five of your events.

And even had the crowd chanting my name, I cannot put into words how moved I felt.

Mark gave me such a touching tribute on stage and even specially prepared an All Out Emo hoodie for me, this will be something I treasure for a lifetime.

Simon came off stage after the show, shook my hand, and gave me two setlists as souvenirs, one day I will learn every song on them on guitar.

Chris, who is always making funny faces at me on stage, today is your birthday, and seeing you enjoying the cheers from the crowd made me really happy too.

Adz, who is amazing at both guitar and rap, let us stay in touch, I will definitely let you know when I come back to the UK in the future.

DJ OHKAY, I really admire your screams and your ability to hype up the crowd, maybe one day we will meet again at your DJ party.

Alfie, who can handle high notes and also perfectly deliver screams and harmonies, I truly love your voice, you are my goal when it comes to singing.

A special shoutout to Danny and DJ Taylor who were not there this time, events are always so fun with you, it is a shame I did not get the chance to say goodbye in person.

No matter where we are in the future, I hope we can all take good care of ourselves until the day we meet again.

I love you all!
