Fun times at the Fashion with Purpose event fundraiser held at Tootsie’s for Meals on Wheels Atlanta September 30. It’s always fabulous to support worthy causes and see some of your favorite people. Then another stop at Lion’s Head before calling it a night!

I had an incredible time celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the National Black Arts Festival Fine Art + Fashion presented by NeimanMarcus, an unforgettable evening for an even greater cause.

Congratulations to NBAF on two decades of elevating art, fashion, culture, and the next generation of creative excellence.

This year’s celebration honored the incomparable recipient of the Cultural Icon Award, Lynn Whitfield, alongside visionary creatives Jeremy Haynes and Michi Meko for their extraordinary impact and influence.

The evening featured stunning student artwork from NBAF’s NextGen program, live music, an elegant runway presentation, and a beautiful reminder of the power of investing in young creatives.

Most importantly, proceeds from the evening support NBAF’s year round arts education initiatives for underserved youth of African descent, while scholarships from the Fashion Forward Student Design Competition and NextGen Visionary Artist Competition continue creating opportunities for the next generation of artists and designers.

A truly beautiful night of purpose, creativity, fashion, and culture.

Thank you Neiman Marcus for having us at your table Wednesday, April 29 for NBAF. Although we didn’t stay for the entire event, we so appreciated the invite and had fun while there. It was great seeing friends and especially nice seeing someone from my hometown which is rare in Atlanta.

Still reminiscing about how wonderful the weekend was with @officiallibertine !!! The collection was amazing and I think we found a few new clients that fell in love! Thank you for the opportunity to work with you and I look forward to doing it again!! Also, spent time with my friend @donaldhuber and to see his fabulous collection!! It all ended with supporting the Atlanta Humane Society at the Bow Wow Brunch. Thank you to everyone @bloomingdales who helped make all@of this happen ❤️

Two years ago, my biz partner @jeatothenell and I had an idea:⁣ What if we built a literary publishing company centered on community, on culture, on voices and stories that don’t always get the spotlight?⁣
⁣
And @elizabethandminnie was born. ✨⁣🚀
⁣
This is the very first book we’re publishing under Elizabeth & Minnie — a company we have poured everything into.⁣ Blood, sweat, tears, money, time… and so much heart and soul.⁣
⁣
We built this from the ground up with one mission:⁣ to amplify underrepresented voices and tell stories that deserve to be seen and felt.⁣
⁣
And now… it’s real. 🥹📚⁣

If you believe in stories… in authors… in protecting and preserving the Arts 📚 …⁣
Pre-order the book 📚💫⁣
⁣
Thank you to everyone who has already shown up and supported. KEEP GOING. We need you and we appreciate you more than you know ❤️⁣
⁣
This is what love and support looks like. So grateful to all my friends and family that show up and support, whether it’s one book 2 or 200 !! 😭⁣Honestly… it means everything. Thanks @allthings_millie 🫂

The Sun and All the Other Stars is available for pre-order on the Elizabeth & Minnie website, and wherever you purchase your books.

Wednesday night was such beautiful night of purpose and elegance. ✨♠️♥️

The HBCU Aware Fest Casino Royale Fundraiser brought together culture, community, and commitment…..all in support of excellence in the next generation of leaders. This fundraiser was a powerful reminder of what we can do when we come together to invest in the future!
@suiteladyoro Thank you so much for thinking of me! 🥰 What an honor to serve on the host committee.
