Move over, transatlantic. We’re in our transhemispheric country era! Australia’s country and folk music scene is absolutely THRIVING, and we are so here for the growing love affair with the UK. From Ally Row’s brilliant UK debut tour in May, to Max Jackson bringing the energy to C2C and Fanny Lumsden gracing the Country Calling stage; the Aussies are making themselves right at home. And quite frankly? We 👏🏻 want 👏🏻 MORE 👏🏻 Here are five Australian artists we simply cannot shut up about #countrymusic #aussiecountrymusic #folkmusic Part country-folk duo. Part comedy double act. Full-time entertainers. If you haven’t discovered Ally Row yet, where have you BEEN? Alice and Rowan deliver gorgeous harmonies, infectious folk-country energy and enough onstage banter to deserve their own sitcom. After a fabulous UK debut tour in May, they’ve continued to keep us hooked, with their latest single Adeline firmly on repeat. Come for the music, stay for the comedy. Honestly, we need them back in the UK immediately! Calling all the girls in their Bella Swan New Moon era. You know the one. Staring dramatically out of windows, romanticising rainy days and pretending you’re the main character in a devastatingly emotional music video. Well, Isabella Richardson has made you the perfect soundtrack. Her EP First Aid Kit is full of beautiful songwriting, heartbreak and all the feelings you thought you’d successfully buried. Will you be emotionally stable afterwards? Unclear. Will you have discovered an incredible artist? Absolutely. Denim, denim and... did somebody say MORE DENIM? Max Jackson is serving country bangers, infectious energy and a wardrobe we’d quite frankly commit crimes for. Her brand-new single FGL (Me & You) is giving windows-down nostalgia and second-chance romance. We’re obsessed. But can we PLEASE talk about the outfits?! Her MUM makes many of her fabulous stage looks, including pieces made from recycled denim. Max, respectfully, is your mum accepting new clients? Because an entire country music community would like to book a fitting 👀 A little bit of country magic, a whole lot of heart. If there’s one thing Fanny Lumsden knows how to do, it’s tell

SOMETIMES THE HARDEST PART OF GOODBYE IS NOT KNOWING WHY⚡ October on BTN begins with two songs caught in that horrible space between loving someone and accepting that they may no longer be yours. In Tones and I — “Mercy,” the relationship is reaching its end, but there’s still something missing: honesty. Don't soften it. Don't leave me hanging somewhere between staying and leaving. Just say it to my face. There’s something painfully understandable about reaching the point where even hearing “I don't want you” would hurt less than continuing without an answer. Ally Row — “Adeline” comes at that same loss from the other side. Instead of asking them for answers, you start asking yourself. What could I have done differently? Could I have made this feel like home? Could I have made them stay? And maybe that's one of the cruellest things about losing a relationship — once someone is gone, we're left with enough empty space to invent a thousand different versions of how we might have saved it. Together, these songs open October's theme of connection with something many of us eventually learn: Sometimes love ends without giving us the answers we wanted. We can ask them for the truth. We can search ourselves for what went wrong. But eventually, somehow, we still have to find our own way forward 💙 Discover October on www.BTN-music.club #BTN #NowPlaying #MusicDiscovery #FYP

OCTOBER ON BTN ⚡🎶 September was about remembering who you are. October seems to have become about connection — the people we love, the people we lose, the people who drive us slightly insane, and the pieces of ourselves we discover through knowing them. Across this month’s 12 featured tracks, connection takes a lot of different forms. There’s the desperate need for honesty when love is ending in Tones and I — “Mercy”, and the regret of wondering whether things could have turned out differently in Ally Row — “Adeline.” NiickC — “Where Have You Gone” sits inside the uncertainty of somebody suddenly feeling absent, while LISA — “SaWaDiKa” comes from almost the opposite direction — loudly owning identity, confidence and where you come from. Then life changes shape. Drax Project — “DADA” finds a completely new sense of purpose through becoming a parent, while Corrella — “Not I” plants its feet and refuses to quietly surrender what matters. October isn't all introspection either. VANITY — “LSD” dives headfirst into love, sex, diamonds and delicious excess, while Victony — “SLICK” brings flirtation, swagger and a reminder that sometimes music can simply feel bloody good. Closer to home, WA gets its moment too. Lachy Dods — “Cheesy” asks whether simply saying I love you has somehow become too much, while The Arcade Lights — “Miss Universe” takes a considerably less romantic look at attraction, appearances and the person behind the image. And finally, two songs that bring the month back to what connection can mean across a lifetime. Vika & Linda — “Little Baby” welcomes new life with love, culture, ancestry and belonging. Mark Wilkinson — “Goodbye” stands at the other end — trying to understand how you let go when someone has been part of everything. Twelve songs. Twelve very different stories. But somewhere between hello and goodbye, falling in love and letting go, finding our people and finding ourselves, they all seem to return to the same thing: We leave pieces of ourselves in the people we love. And we carry pieces of them wherever we may go ❤️‍🔥 Welcome to October on BTN. www.BTN-music.club #BTN #MusicDiscovery #NowPlaying #IndependentMusic #FYP
