“I have been dancing hip hop and listening to hip hop music since I was young, but I really felt connected to hip hop in my sophomore year here at UW. I have always loved hip hop for the confidence it gives people. I love stepping into a confident persona and watching my friends do so as well.
I love the hip hop community for allowing people to explore and always supporting one another while they do. The energy given in class, performances, and battles is something that can’t be replaced.“ @allyrileyw

Hiiiii! I’m Ally (She/Her), and I will be one of this year’s dance chairs! I am a third-year at UW studying statistics. I have been dancing many different styles for most of my life, but I have really focused on hip hop in the last couple of years. I love bringing people together through dance, so I can’t wait for this next year! A few of my dance inspirations are Carly Lawrence, Caleb Brauner, and Robert Green (peep their choreography in the videos👀).
Fun Fact: Ask me about how I got a quarter stuck in my throat…

I can’t even describe how much Kinfigure and the family means to me! I have met some of my best friends and I am so grateful for that! This place is genuinely a family. In my 4 years being a part of Kinfigure I have felt so loved and supported. I am encouraged to grow not just as a person, but as a dancer. Thank you Caleb and Carly for every opportunity, every lesson, and the endless love and belief you pour into all of us. It never goes unnoticed.

My heart is so full because of this Kinfam. I wouldn’t trade these experiences or these friendships for anything. I love you all more than you know! 💗💗 #milk

Are you ready for some sexy feminine energy? This group presents a heels dance piece centered on the alter egos of women. Through R&B, pop, and Latin-inspired music, they explore the sensual, confident, cool, and powerful sides of femininity. This performance is all about self-expression, confidence, and owning every side of who they are.

INTRODUCING… L8TE NITE FUNC

Its 2009 and the party of the year is just getting started. Friends are dancing, fights are breaking out, and is that a siren I hear in the distance? This Y2K centered piece incoporates aspects of hip hop, rnb, and hype to create an early 2000s inspired choreo that will transport you back to the (greatest?) time of your life. Scream, shout and let it all out for these dancers. Are you ready for Late Night Func??

kinmas this year especially was really something special. the community kinfigure has built is unlike any convention room i have ever stepped in, and i wish everyone could experience the love and community i felt these past few days. i’m so grateful for @calebbrauner and @carlymlawrence for creating such a special environment and family, and im so so grateful for all the beautiful people i got to share these last moments of this year with ❤️ love you all forever
