COPENHAGEN HALF ‘26. 🇩🇰🪩🏆🏃‍♀️⭐️💫

Nice little training run, that. Might have gone out a little too hot (🤭) but just loved every second. 234 in my category for an easy to steady? Not bad.

I raced as hard as I could in Copenhagen back in 2022 and came away with a 1.33. So to be running a minute or so slower this time around as a training run makes me v happy. ❤️

SO proud of the fam - @george_headd managed a near 2 min PB with no run specific training (I’ve tried 🤪🤣), @vickiihead managed an eight min PB after months of dedicated training, Ol very very nearly ran a sub 2 for his debut and my Dad smashed a 2.35. He was so worried he’d be behind the sweeper van as the course cut off was 3 hours, so I’m bursting with pride. 💪

LOVED cheering all of you legends post, too. I may have lost my voice……. 🤭

Back with things I worked on - August and Women in Sport edition ✍️ - and would love you to read. Bcos reading is cool!! 🪩

After *months* of hard work, we finally went live with our sixth annual Women in Sport issue, fronted by the formidable @chloekelly.

She’s every bit as amazing in person - down to earth, open, and kind. One of my favourite interviews to date, she opens up about growing up on a council estate, rebuilding her mental health after a turbulent time at Man City, and the legacy she hopes to leave. ⚽️

As part of the special, I got to write my FIRST EVER Editor’s letter. A proper pinch me moment after so many years of bringing this franchise to life, and of championing female athletes long before it became mainstream. 🥹💫

Elsewhere in the issue, we’ve got a definitive list of 50 of the best female athletes to watch, follow, and support in 2026 and beyond by the ever brilliant @ashspili 🏄‍♀️

Our resident female health writer @ellhammxnd spoke to athletes about the reality of living - and training - with endometriosis, a female health condition which leaves millions of women in daily pain but is still under researched and under resourced. Powerful, emotive, and inspiring - well worth a read. 👩‍⚕️

F1 is having its fashion moment, and we sent sports reporter @fernbuckley_ to report on the shifting landscape from the ground…. Ft. Chase and Status set, McLaren cropped tees and 101 beauty activations. 🏎️

I’m obsessed with the way sport and fashion are colliding RN, and this piece from @meg__walters breaks down how athletes walk in looks have become such a moment. Spoiler: they’re a way for athletes to get into character and express who they are, not to mention challenge the idea that female athletes have to separate performance from femininity, fashion, or self expression. 🏓

Next up: if you want to know whether a beauty product *actually* works, who better to put it through its paces than an elite athlete? We asked sportswomen to share their ride or die products and the ones that stay put through sweat, heat and hours of movement. 💅💄💋

I loved catching up with @miquitaoliver for this piece, and think it serves as such a solid reminder th

Full Harry dump coming tomorrow, obvs…

But for now, a moment on the grid for my #runchat sign. Because it would have been illegal to go to a sub 3 marathoners concert without making a running joke, now wouldn’t it? 🏃‍♀️

What an absolute privilege it was to chat on the @londonmarathon Expo Main Stage this morning alongside @lilliesfitness, @nickyedwardsphysio and @emmakirkyo. 🎤

Our talk explored how sports science was built without women (more complicated and expensive to research due to our cycles and hormones), and why a lot of marathon advice still doesn’t fit female bodies.

A 2021 review in sports medicine found that only about 6% of exercise science studies focused exclusively on women, while the majority were male-only or male-dominated.

TLDR: Most marathon advice was designed around male bodies—and we’ve just been expected to adapt.

There’s an enormous lack of research into what powers the female body—but today’s panel encouraged women struggling with fueling, injury, or performance to question what was never designed for them > what’s “wrong” with them.

Training plans, recovery models, and even VO₂ max benchmarks are skewed and based on the male body as the “standard”. We didn’t fail the system—the system never included us.

But it’s not all bad news. Emerging research is finally exploring cycle-based training and performance optimisation—we’re moving from ‘control for hormones’ to ‘understand and leverage hormones.’

The bottom line? Women don’t need to adapt to sport science—sport science needs to catch up with women.

If you’re heading to the expo today, tomorrow, or at the weekend, be sure to stop by the main stage. They’ve got a jam packed line up with loads of amazing guest speakers including @anitabean1, @sophieraworth and @paula_radcliffe. 📣

The biggest thank you for having me team. What a dream! 🪩
