Last year was intense, but one of the absolute highlights was presenting PEOPLE IN PUBLIC - a new, ensemble based show, about fleeting connections between strangers in an urban environment, told through the language of physical theatre and circus.

This show was an absolute act of LOVE.

We co-created the choreography inside a framework that I envisioned for each vignette. Everyone brought so much of themselves to the show. I tried to say yes more than I said no, and it led to a lot of the best ideas generated from the cast.

It was important to me to present an ensemble show, using all New York Artists.

It wouldn't have been possible without the Support of Culture Lab LIC, who chose me as a 2024 Emerging Artist in Residence. The opportunities to do this sort of work simply don't exist here. The funding situation in the US makes it really hard to build larger works here - even though we have talented artists and vibrant audiences.

✨✨✨
I'm very proud of my team and what we made. People in Public has that Lighting in a Bottle Magic feeling.

That said, I am VERY excited to announce the NEXT iteration of People in Public! We'll be bringing some new pieces in, and tightening up vignettes from version 1.

People in Public - Presented on June 1st, at the Philadelphia Contemporary Circus Festival.

Tickets on Sale Now. See You There?

They left the bath mat on the floor; so what else could I do?! (Also, hear my song playing in the background?!?). #dog #dogsofinstagram #dogsstealingthings #adoptdontshop #blackandwhitedogs #mutt #muttsofinstagram

The people brought this strange thing back (they call it a dinosaur?) and I just don’t like it. #happymealtoys #dog #dogsofinstagram

It may be Mr. Met as Indiana Jones bobblehead night, but let’s hope the Mets don’t get stuck in a museum. If anyone can dig the Mets out of a hole, Indy can. No 🐍 please.

I’ve run out of references. #LGM

That’s Judy Blume in the middle (bad photo)! At a talk and screening of the film version of “Are You There G-d, it’s me Margaret.” The film was great and it was very very clear that Judy Blume also loves the film adaptation.
