Although crêpes aren’t just limited to sweet applications but my entire family has a sweet tooth so when these Citrus orange blossom crêpes, filled with Ashta cream, a drizzle of Seville orange jam and a dusting of pistachios appear for brunch or dessert there are always lots of smiles and some sticky fingers. Plus this gloomy, 2 feet of snow, dig out your car kind of weather could use some brightening up.

Making crêpes is a fun skill to have in your cooking repertoire. Crêpes are a blank canvas for sweet and savory dishes. Change your fillings and flavorings and they are perfect for any occasion and they are great to serve for brunch, dinner or dessert.

You can make crêpes at home so easily with no fancy tools or special equipment as long as you have a non stick pan you are good to go. The batter comes together in the blender. Because the blender incorporates more air into it, resulting in a very light and tender crêpes with those characteristic tiny air bubbles on top. Recipe linked in profile and to learn this simple skill head on to my story.

Brunch is best served with friends something I have missed most. So a few friends and I are having a virtual brunch party, bringing you some delicious brunch/breakfast ideas that are perfect for the weekend.
And This is also a great post to save for your upcoming Easter brunch table. scroll to see some delicious recipes from French toast, scones, baked eggs, poached eggs Babka & more.

Did you know James E. Pepper, bartender and esteemed bourbon aristocrat, was said to have invented the drink in Louisville, before he brought the recipe to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel bar in New York City in 1880.

This is a yummy old fashioned from @rpmitalian to start the weekend!

Did you know waffles were originally showcased in 1958 at Expo 58 in Brussels. Belgian waffles were introduced to North America by a Belgian named Walter Cleyman at the Century 21 Exposition in Seattle in 1962 and served with whipped cream and strawberries!

This is topped with gelato :O

Did you know immigrants and local ranchers started exchanging ideas during the late 1800s and early 1900s for how to smoke brisket. Since brisket was still one of the cheapest beef cuts available in Texas at the time, the largest beef-producing state in the country, there was a lot of brisket available.
This is an amazing brisket slider!

Did you know dates are believed to have originated around what is now Iraq, and have been cultivated since ancient times from Mesopotamia to prehistoric Egypt. The Ancient Egyptians used the fruits to make date wine, and ate them at harvest.
These are bacon wrapped dates.

Did you know it has been claimed that meringue was invented in the Swiss village of Meiringen and improved by an Italian chef named Gasparini between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century.

These were amazing! Gold flake on top and passion fruit inside - how did I just have one :O

Did you know when Jews moved to Poland, they referred to matzo balls as knoedela, and in the 1930s, the U.S. Manischewitz company started packaging the product and called them "Alsatian feathery balls." It was probably U.S. comedians and vaudeville performers that finally dubbed them "matzo balls." .
This one was amazing and we had it at @auchevalchicago

#AprilisForArabFood 💙 My parents are Syrian, my husband’s family is Lebanese/Syrian/Egyptian/Palestinian. It’s safe to say that based on our Arab mix, our family knows most versions of one of, or the most famous Arab street food - the glorious Falafel 😊 This crunchy, fried chickpea (sometimes fava bean) mix of herbs, sesame & co smothered in tahini sauce, with veg on thin Arabic bread is comfort food at its finest for me.. These Crunchy Green Falafel are from my book and if I may say so myself - they are so good!! (recipe in bio). The Arab world may be in turmoil and these days mostly and sadly associated to negativity. But there is so much love, beauty, kindness, and so much glorious food I would love the world to remember. So April is For Arab Food.. Tagging a fellow Arab to continue this wonderful chain I was asked to join @gimmedelicious ❤️ #falafel #tahini #sesame #arabfood #daliaskitchen
