Three months since my mom died and fourteen months of playing bigger in business and risking more than I ever have.

It’s been a f*cking year is putting it mildly.

Stress, uncertainty, big decisions, bigger bills, hormones, grief…my nervous system has been hanging on by a thread for most of it.

And then this weekend I was driving, the sun was shining, my window was down, James Blunt came on and I was just…HAPPY.☀️

Like actually happy.

I wasn’t thinking about whether things were getting better. I wasn’t trying to be grateful or positive or tell myself everything was going to be okay.

I was just driving around singing WAY too loud with the sun on my face and I felt GOOD.

And I don’t know, somewhere in the middle of absolutely butchering a James Blunt song I had this moment where I thought, holy f*ck. There I am. 🥰

I’ve missed her.🥹

There’s something about being a woman in midlife and feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world most days… and then you get one of these little moments where nobody needs anything from you.

You’re alone in your car, your favourite song comes on, the window is down and you’re singing like you’re 30 again. 🎤

And for a few minutes you forget about the 47 things waiting for you when you get home.

That was me on Saturday.

For a few minutes I wasn’t thinking about my mom or the business or money or what I needed to do next.

I was just me.🥰

I have spent so much of the last year worrying….

About this business, this building. The money, delays and pivots. Whether we were making the right decisions. Whether we could keep going when life seemed determined to throw us one more curveball.

And then I lost my mom. 💔

Some of the tears in this video have absolutely nothing to do with HelloAmino. And yet somehow, all of it became part of this chapter.

There were so many moments when I couldn’t see how everything was going to work out.

But this week, I stood in my new office, looked around at this place we’ve spent more than a year fighting to get into, and for the first time in a long time I had this overwhelming feeling…

We’re going to be okay. 🥹

We’re not at the end of this story. We’re rebuilding, earning back momentum and trust after a year that forced us to change more than we ever wanted to. And we still need you.

In Part One, I shared why worthiness has become such a deeply personal conversation for me.

This is what happened next. ❤️

A few weeks ago, my dad gave up his Inner Circle Founding Member seat, the highest level of membership we created to recognize the people helping us build this next chapter of HelloAmino, and asked me to give it to someone in our community. 🥹

So we asked you to tell us who deserved that seat. You nominated your friends, sisters, woman you love. 💕

And some of you nominated yourselves.

Jennifer was one of them.

When I told her how much courage I thought it took to raise her own hand, she said something that didn’t make it into this video:

“At 50, I’m finally starting to recognize my own self-worth.”

And that hit home.

Because 50 has felt like a turning point for me too.

Not because I suddenly have everything figured out, but because I’m stepping into who I am with more clarity and I’m getting more comfortable choosing myself.

And apparently, I’m not the only one.

This is the very raw FaceTime call where I got to tell Jennifer that we had chosen her for my dad’s seat.

I actually questioned whether I should share it because the video quality is terrible. It’s blurry and imperfect and very, very real.

And then I realized…

That’s exactly why I should share it.

Because this account has never been about giving you the polished version of my life or this business. I want to share the truth of it. The organic, imperfect moments that actually mean something.

And this one meant something. 🥹

Because maybe somewhere around 50, a lot of us are finally realizing that recognizing our own worth doesn’t take anything away from anyone else.

We can celebrate other women AND choose ourselves.

We can believe someone else deserves the seat AND still say so do I.

Does anyone else immediately regret volunteering to bring something to a party, or is it just me? 😅 #ad

I thought I was adding another thing to my never ending to-do list, but making these cake pops with the kids ended up being one of the most fun parts of our day!

We used the @cravecupcakes at home Confetti Cake Mix, and a full tub of their Vanilla Buttercream, and they honestly made homemade feel doable!

Homemade, without the stress? I’ll take that every time! 🤍
