Last weekend was a dream come true in every possible way. ✨ Looking back on our journey, I’m so proud of us. We’ve built a real life together one created through shared dreams, overcoming hard times, and constantly learning how to love each other equally and deeply. Getting to celebrate that love in a place we get to call our forever home was so special. Having our incredible friends, family, and especially our kids right there by our side as we stepped into this new chapter is something I will hold in my heart forever. It’s one thing to talk about big changes, but it’s an entirely different feeling when you’re standing in the middle of them. Looking back through these memories of Oʻahu brings up so much genuine gratitude. That island held our laughter, our growing pains, milestones we’ll never forget, and the everyday moments that built our foundation. Every corner has a memory attached to it, and leaving a piece of your heart behind is never easy. Watching the coastline fade from the airplane window as we crossed the channel was completely surreal. It was that quiet, suspended moment between everything familiar and everything yet to come a mix of nerves, excitement, and anticipation. Landing on Lānaʻi felt like taking the deepest, clearest breath. There is a quiet, grounded familiarity here that instantly wraps around you. Coming back and being surrounded by this island again just feels right like the pace settles your spirit the moment your feet touch the ground. Now, we’re standing in our new home, surrounded by cardboard boxes, open doors, and a blank canvas. There is so much magic in a fresh start. It’s the sound of footsteps echoing in empty rooms that will soon be filled with warmth, loud family dinners, and brand-new routines. We love being back on this island and are so ready to put down deep roots. To everyone who made Oʻahu feel like home, mahalo for being part of our story. And to Lānaʻi it is so, so good to be back. 🌺✈️🏡✨

A Focus on Communities Last night, our 30-year reunion felt less like a party and more like coming home. We caught up with friends we hadn’t seen in decades, laughed over awkward yearbook photos, and shared stories about our families. Work hardly came up—instead, we talked about life. There was a collective sense of peace that we all made it to this day. It was a grounded reminder that we’re supported by others in ways we may not be present to. We’re so focused on competition these days that we forget to give energy to our communities. But instead of struggling to survive as individuals, we should lift each other up so we can thrive together. Iolani Class of ‘96, you filled my cup. Last Friday we had the honor of having Professor Walter drop in to help prep the @cascaojiujitsu competitors from @hanaloaschoolofjiujitsu and @maui_grappling_academy for the Honolulu Open. Huge CONGRATULATIONS to @aloha_sips_here on earning his Purple Belt, and to Coach @makenaboy on receiving his 3rd Degree! These promotions don’t happen overnight. They represent years of showing up, putting in the work, staying committed, and continuing to grow.
