Freediving gives you wings

As an underwater photographer, I spend most of my days chasing light underwater—quiet, weightless, alone.

But this weekend, I was surrounded by light in a different form.
Louder, brighter, bolder.
Color, joy, resistance, and community—on land, in full view, unapologetically alive.

Maui Pride was a celebration of identity, visibility, and love in every shade.
It reminded me that there’s courage in being seen.
That there’s wildness in joy.
That community, like the ocean, holds us when we show up fully.

Honored to witness and photograph this.
Even more honored to feel part of it.

It’s the babies tipping the queens for me. 😭
