I spent time this week in Singapore sitting down with Kevin Phun, SE Asia’s leading sustainable tourism specialist and Director at The Centre for Responsible Tourism Singapore.

Singapore’s transformation into a world-class, frictionless destination didn't happen by accident—it was built on intentional policies, eco-friendly infrastructure, and relentless stakeholder capacity building.

Kevin and I had a brilliant exchange of ideas on what the future of eco-tourism looks like for emerging markets. We discussed the critical need for sustainability training for local tourism operators and how Guyana can adapt some of Southeast Asia’s most successful, forward-thinking best practices to protect our own natural assets while scaling our industry. 🇬🇾🤝🇸🇬

From Georgetown 🇬🇾 to Singapore 🇸🇬!

A quick look at why I'm on the other side of the world. I’m currently doing field research for my SUNx Malta Climate-Friendly Travel Diploma to study Singapore’s world-class urban infrastructure.

The goal? Bring massive, sustainable ideas back home to @alonggy1 and help build a climate-resilient Guyana. 🚲🌿

Next up: Official meetings with the Singapore Tourism partners.

RIDE ALONG GY CEO's is off to Singapore 🇸🇬 for the final leg of her studies in Urban planning and sustainability. She will also be using this time to meet with tourism stakeholders in Singapore, where she has plans to educate and share the Ride Along GY story and highlight Guyana’s incredible potential for sustainable, active tourism.

While there, she will be doing a deep dive into Singapore's world-class Park Connector Networks and urban mobility infrastructure. The goal is to learn from one of the most advanced transit systems in the world and bring those innovations right back home to the streets of Georgetown.

From Guyana to the globe—stay tuned for updates from the other side of the world! 🇬🇾🚲✈️🇸🇬and let us wish her all the best in her studies.

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of taking Luis, visiting all the way from Spain 🇪🇸, on our Georgetown Walking Tour.

I won’t lie to you all, I was fighting for my life trying to speak Spanish the whole time! 😂😂 But I am putting in the work to become more fluent so I can give my Spanish-speaking clients the absolute best experience when they visit Guyana. Honestly? Hearing Luis say he had a great time and actually understood me made every bit of that struggle worth it! 🙌🏾✨Still working on my accent 😂😂

Here is what he had to say about his time exploring GT with us.

📲 Booking a trip to GT soon? Whether you speak English or want to test out my growing Spanish skills, WhatsApp 592-616-0701 to lock in your tour. Let’s explore! 🇬🇾👟

Nothing beats touching down back home! 🇬🇾✨

She’s Guyanese to the bone, but this was her very first trip back since moving overseas—and her first time ever pedaling through Georgetown!

Listen to her share what it was really like taking in GT from the saddle with us. 🚴🏾‍♀️🎙️

If you’re coming home soon, trust me: you haven’t truly experienced the city until you see it on two wheels.

I’m challenging YOU to get moving this month! Walk, run, or ride. Let me know how you’re staying active in the comments and use #formyheart.

Want to join my weekly bridge rides? You are more than welcome, and you can rent a bike if you need one!
