ANNOUNCEMENT: BROOKS RUNNING COLLECTIVE NORTHEAST CAPTAIN

“IF YOU WANT TO GO FAST, GO ALONE; IF YOU WANT TO GO FAR, GO TOGETHER”

I don’t know where to begin - I’m so appreciative of everything that being a part of the BRCo has allowed me to experience, and I’m honored to represent my region in my third (and final) year in the program.

For years I looked at running as an outlet from life’s troubles, and the multiple curveballs it throws our way. Stress at work? Go for a run. Losing a family member? Time to lace them up. Relationship falling apart? Better get out for a few miles. You get the picture.

In 2023 it all changed - running became one of the issues that was causing daily stress. The one activity that had helped me get away from struggles had become one of them, and I hated that the “quiet” getaway I had from life’s daily struggles had become so “loud”.

I came across a couple of accounts on social media that consistently showcased individuals going out as a community, enjoying the running scene, and overall being a part of a community. They were members of the @brooksrunning Run Happy Team (@kchiang16 @chinnychinruns ) and I decided at that time that I wanted to try and become a part of the community they represented so well.

Somehow - with a small following of maybe 700 individuals - I was accepted onto the newest iteration of the team: The Brooks Running Collective (BRCo).

Over the past two years this quiet, very socially awkward, dry humored, and RBF’d individual has had the opportunity to showcase new gear, have entries into races, travel across the US for events, and meet some of the most exceptional individuals that I am lucky to call friends today. From the “senior” team members who made me feel at home from day one ( @king_frankie85 @runitnadia @reireiruns @justinekard @alpine_skye ); to the ones who joined as fellow “rookies” in 2024 (@iamanthonytucker @creativetejano @michael_runs_miles @superguard_sin @christinabonnyman ); and those that have become like family (@amanda_katzz @paisleylandry @gina_in_the_zone @keegan_breaksaway ) - this is truly a community that I consider myself so lucky to be a part of.

Thank you Brooks!

Always #runhappy 💙

For me, as a race runner/social media runner, being chosen as a Brooks Run Happy Team/Brooks Running Collective member for the first time in 2021 was the pinnacle for me ☺️🤗 I truly love the brand and their products 🫶

Getting picked the 1st time was obviously amazing, but Brooks having me back in 2022, 2023, & 2024 (and as a brand affiliate this year) 🤯🥰 was the greatest feeling as a runner. To know that you must be doing something right even though you personally feel extremely average and vanilla 😅

The perks of the team are amazing. The gear 🔥 the shoes 🔥 the events 🔥and the teammates 🎉 The sheer amount of positivity that the Brooks staff and teammates continually give is so genuine and uplifting!

The summer Brooks team events were definitely the peak of each year 🚀 Camp Run Happy in 2021 was great even if we were virtual. I totally regret not going to the 2022 Park City, Utah event, but I got to make up for that by attending 2023 Hype Fest in Santa Monica and 2024 in Chicago.

The ultimate highlight for me was getting to be a part of a couple product photoshoots 🤩🤩 talk about feeling like a star! Out there running in yet to be released shoes while ultra runner Cat Bradley helps me up the hill 🎉 alas, I never got to see any of the final shots, but the memories will last!

It was tough fitting in with the team as a socially awkward introvert, but this is all on me! It was great having a few of my local friends on the team to be a buffer for me (thank you Justin, Leigh, and Denis in particular 🙏). My favorite part of the team is/was the purposeful effort to be a more diversified representation of runners 🥹🤩 keep that up! And, truly, I enjoyed talking with, laughing with, drinking with, and of course running with each and everyone one of you 🥰💙🫶 too many to name by about 200 😅 don't worry, my run friends post is still coming!!
Thank you specifically to Ariella, Laura, Dustin, Casey, and Emma for all that you did/do for the team 🙌🤗

I will always be a Brooks runner 💙💙💙 #runhappy #runproud and #letsrunthere
