Snaps from a super fun weekend taking photos at @thecoastermarathon 🌱

Trying to be better at sharing snippets of life these days, even as it seems to be flying by at warp speed.

Such a fun girls trip on the Sunshine Coast, my old home🥹, to cap off several wonderful weeks of family time in BC in between all the usual work and race chaos of this time of year.

It’s not lost on me how special it is to carve out times with friends as the years and our lives change, and it’s so cool to be able to still get away for a girls race weekend together over a decade after these first started…even if the trips look a bit different now.

Grateful for this life—a few moments over the last few weeks 🫶🏻

A few days later, we drove East and met up with our friends Heather & John to tackle another long time favourite, Mount MacFarlane, in Chiliwack.

I feel like this could be said about all my recent adventures, but this one really packs a punch with 1900m of climbing over 9km! It is steep and beautiful from start to finish.

When Jeff and I came here back in 2019, we opted not to swim in upper Pierce lake for some reason. A mistake that had been haunting me ever since, and that we did not repeat this time. 😉

Weekend mission to Chilliwack to summit Mount Macfarlane with our friends John & Heather.

It had been a few years since I was last up there, and the views never disappoint. But the post-summit swim in upper Pierce Lake might be the best part!

Girls weekend with a side of trail marathon 💅

I had such a great time racing @thecoastermarathon earlier in June!

Although I was quite undertrained due to a recent ankle injury, I knew my base was solid enough to get me through 42k of STUNNING Sunshine Coast trails.

I started conservatively and felt great after 20k, so I decided to pick up the pace for the second half and see what I could do. In the end, I was faster than anticipated, and I finished feeling really strong. Goes to show that patience, gratitude, and a little bit of grit, can go a long way.

Oh and being constantly uplifted by your girlfriends doesn’t hurt either.

Thanks @jeanelle.haz & @marz_merwe for giving us the best excuse to escape for a weekend.

April has come and gone and since my race on the 12th, I’ve been on just one sad little run.

I sprained my ankle pretty badly during Desert Rats and it’s taking some time to heal (see last slide if you like feet 😝). It will be nice when I can start running again, but I know better than to rush back into it.

I’ve been spending time with friends either on 2 wheels or on the water and as you can see, I’m not too sad about it.

Springtime around Vancouver really doesn’t get any better!

2024 recap a few months late. The year was about spending quality time with friends, making the most of our terrible ski season (this year is looking much better!), getting out into the mountains locally and not so locally, and getting back into ultra running after a 6 year hiatus.

1. Valley to valley spearhead ending with a full moon with Eric, Eric, and Adam
2. Dragging a heavy pulk up Mt. Logan during one of our few good weather days
3. In the back yard with Guy
4. Crying tears of admiration after pacing Audrée at High Lonesome
5. First time up Habrich with the Erics
6. Boy band photo shoot on Rexford with Eric, Heather, & John
7. Again crying at the end of a finish line, but this time from relief, with my incredible crew Eric, Andrea, Audrée, and Sam after my 2nd place finish at Kodiak 100m
8. First time back in Puerto Escondido since 2009, relieved to see things haven’t changed too too much (at least in my Grandad’s neighbourhood)
9. Jumping the gun on ski season with Eric

Join us for the Live Premiere of the High Lonesome 100!

Our friends @arcteryxbc and I are hosting a fun community night at the Park Royal store on Wednesday, Feb. 5th. Ticket sales will be donated to WISH (World Indigenous Sports & Health) and the film is sure to leave you inspired (and stoked) for the upcoming trail season.

**EDIT: Event sold out in 24h! Thank you! ☺️

See you there! 🫶
