It’s been a year since @tonyfitzpatrick9 left us and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. To say that Tony was an incredible human being would be an understatement. His generosity was downright overwhelming at times. He brought people together like no one I’ve ever met. He was fiercely loyal to those closest to him and went out of his way to support those around him always. Tony would have loved knowing that his family and friends got together tonight to laugh, cry and tell hilarious stories in his honor. There’ll never be another Tony Fitzpatrick.

We were so lucky to have so many old friends at the shop for our anniversary party, including @alscorch ! Before he hit large tube fame, he worked with us as a service/production mechanic and as you can tell he has still got it! Other than music, performance and comedy he alsp owns and operates @apricotvintage in Irving Park, check them out :)#nonprofit #chicagobike #communityfirst

Jon Langford and Rick Kogan present “Something Beautiful,” an evening of words, songs and poems written by the late visual artist, author, actor, gallerist and podcaster Tony Fitzpatrick. Long renowned for his etchings, illustrations and multi-media collages, Tony’s deep well of creative output also included poetry, personal essays, and on a much lesser-known basis, songwriting. Shining a light on these works, alongside Jon and Rick, will be vocalists Kelly Hogan and Sally Timms, drummer Quin Kirchner, guitarist John Szymanski, multi-faceted performer Al Scorch and lighting director Tracey Dear. A portion of the proceeds will be allocated to the Tony Fitzpatrick Family Trust.

This event will take place at Constellation for two nights: Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19, 2026. Tickets for both shows are on sale today and can be purchased online through the Constellation-Chicago website.

Commissioner Marlene Hopkins joined us yesterday to talk about the work of the Chicago Department of Buildings, with local comedian Al Scorch setting the tone with a very Chicago opening.

Watch the full program to learn what it takes to maintain the buildings that give us our world-renowned skyline.

@alscorch I’ve been waiting to use this audio again 😋
repointing historic masonry using a custom lime mortar by @limeworkslab 👷🏻‍♀️ butter joints get fine sand in the mix v standard course sand… and there are a thousand ways to skin a cat as long as the work looks good and is installed correctly! 💪 I will be testing out a new method of pointing on the straightaway however this area was already extremely saturated so I wasn’t going to be started there 🙃 if you know you know 💁🏻‍♀️ so excited to be on the home stretch of this labor of love 🫶 I think it’s been worth the wait
