The Mother, The Menacer, & Me is available for rent/purchase on Apple TV and Amazon today! I’m not one to get all mushy-gushy on social media but what an absolute joy this film has been to be a part of. The friends that have become family and the irreplaceable memories I’ve made from Day 1 of production till now, I will forever cherish. I’ve learned so much about myself, my craft, and from the amazing cast & crew - you all brought your absolute best and it truly, truly shows. Thank you x 1000 @chrisandplaush for trusting me to lead your film/vision - I was thrilled to be your Eddie. And @jonsalmon … what can I even say?? You made the film set feel like home everyday and not one of us would disagree with that - you’re not just an actor’s director, you’re an actor’s friend 🥹. I hope this film brings as many smiles to the viewers as it has for all of us who worked on it. Happy release day!!! #appletv #amazon #comedy #horror #film #family.

My first solo feature, The Mother, The Menacer and Me, is now available for rent on Apple and Amazon.

Filmmaking is a lot like cooking - you can taste if someone loved what they made for you. Were they willing to stay up late preparing for it, did they agonize over the perfect ingredients, and did they invite the right people to join them in the kitchen.

We made this film in a hot house in June of 2024, over the course of 20 breathless days. Amateur pilots from a regional airport flew constantly overhead. But, despite the heat and noise, I can’t get over how many smiles I saw every day from the crew. Every person on the production was discerning, selective, and trained to the degree of being able to make decisions on reflex. But most of all, I think we were all rife with gratitude at being able to, impossibly, make a indie feature film in post-strike Los Angeles in 2024.

Please check out the film. Reviewers seem to like it! And spread the word with a repost if you can.

At that very moment, as I looked around the crowded room, I felt a quiet rush of gratitude. For the first time, I was in my own city, standing before an audience in a Q&A, sharing thoughts about film with fellow storytellers from my hometown. It felt like coming full circle as if the dream that began in solitude away from home had finally found its echo among my own people and roots.
