The Jordan Jumpman All Star. Also known as the Jumpman Select or All Star Select released in the year 2000.

This shoe shares an overwhelming resemblance with the Jordan 15. At first glance the 15 design language is immediately present. A overarching triangular / trapezoidal design language was a signature of the Jordan 15 and is featured beautifully here on the All-Star. From the hood ornament on the toe, to the prominent signature tongue, to the tongue mounted lace holders and overall shape there are many design features pulled directly from the AJ-15.

It was common for Jordan brand Team and Jumpman models of the era to borrow signature design elements from that Year's flagship, but I don't think any shoe emulates the annual model as much as this one here.

The shoe shares such a similar design language, it would easily pass as an alternate 15. I find this interesting because if we look at the Jordan 15 retros we have gotten, almost all of them feature some sort of alternate upper. If This were canceled in 2000 and released today, I could easily see it being sold as a alternate 15.

The shoe was designed by Wilson smith, the same designer of the Jordan 16 and 17. I know that a lot of these Jordan projects are attributed to one person, but in reality they are developed together with a team and one lead designer. I'm curious as to the in-depth the backstory of this shoe. I know that Wilson worked on some women's only models and almost wonder if this may have been originally slated as a women's only model. Seeing this design also makes me wonder how much influence Wilson had over the AJ-15 itself, seeing as this shoe and Wilson's Jumpman Swift both feature significant AJ-15 details.

Then there's the name.. although, I think that may be another Post in itself...

Do you remember this model? Do you know anything about it or it's development? If you do, do not hesitate to inbox as I would love to know more.

SOTY? There has been a lot of talk about two of the year 2026... What do you think? These two pairs here are some that I see often brought up in the conversation.

Both are amazing twists on later model classics. The 16 and 17 are two of my favorite jordans. The 16 being my favorite of all time.

When it comes to the 16th I think free the youth knocked these out of the park. Loud, bold, these will definitely be seen by everybody.

But the 17.. the 17 is executed so perfectly. This is what all Jordan releases should be like. I love all of the extras. The pins, the patches, the keychains, the stickers, the card... And not to mention the design itself. An absolutely amazing use of materials. Wilson Smith, designer of the Jordan 17 even said he prefers this doernbecher over any of his original colorways that he designed.

Designed by Zach Rumbaugh, the 17 features heavy Motorsport influence including carbon faux fiber paneling, heated titanium exhaust, right now to the nuts used as the last most eyelet. I'm also absolutely in love with a little cat at the forefoot. This shoe was executed perfectly and I have to give it the upper hand over the FTY 16.
